The core. A quick review
I wanted to share a short video showing how easy it is to assemble. Fast af. You dont need to quit/add balls to be sure the number is correct and it is over/underfilled.
It is easy to clean too. I mean, a lot.
Now the performance:
The heat up time is similar to zirc balls, but the zirc balls keep warm a bit more time and have a bit better flavor.
I find the flavor to be more similar to the corindon, so it has a good flavor, and depends how you heat it too.
I feel like this gives better flavor than quartz/boro/sic at high temps. And maybe it is my imagination but, at the smaller chamber setting, it seems to give more radiant conduction (not a ton more, but a bit).
The cool down time is more similar to the corindon than to the zirc balls. With the cap of the tube it is very fast.
In general it can loose some advantages you have with the balls, but it gives you a quicker and simple maintenance, being more practical in some situations, like a travel, where you dont want to deal with balls if it gets super dirt.
The pieces are simple and have a good finish. The image of the web is way worse than the real core.
