Must-have items for Tempest 2

So, I'm hoping to finally get my Tempest 2 bundle during the next restock (wish me luck!), but I want to check with you if there are other must-have accessories besides the ones I already chose:

— Everything that comes with the bundle.

— Wand adapter v.3 (I want to use the T2 with my Wand too, not only the YLL 3.0).

— Two Wand stands.

– The leather case.

Is it worth buying extra balls, maybe made of another material?

I'm a sucker for glass/quartz vapes. Is it worth getting the Revolve glass sleeve? What can you tell me about its performance with the T2 and DynaVaps?

Is there anything more you recommend for me?

For now, my preferred devices are the Vaponic (with a torch, both with and without a dry bong) and the M+ tip with the Bonger and the Armored Cap (both with a torch and the Wand, always with a dry bong). I mostly vaporize dry herb, but also resin now and then. My bongs are 10mm and 14mm, but at the moment I'm not thinking of buying the adapter for the 10mm one. I suppose a similar one in my own currency might have a better cost-benefit ratio.

Thank you in advance!

Restock

Just a heads up...I know folks were looking for a USA restock. Our shipment landed today. This includes the Heater Core V2.

Looks like we are in good shape with everything from this shipment except for Midnight Blue and Purple Reloads. Those are coming too but that box is dragging.

Thanks for all your support!

Tempest 2 "first time clean" 99vs91% iso

Just got my tempest 2 in the mail along with the yll. Super excited to clean and use it.

However when following the initial set up cleaning process it prompts me to use 99% ipa only.

Was wondering from anyone in the community tempest or not that knew if it was safe to clean with 91%.

I can source 99% online but no where locally.

Anyinput is appreciative even if you just call me stupid lol for even asking.

$50 dollar custom fee? (USA)

I knew there would be a fee at customs but $50 on a $350 dollar bundle seems pretty steep. Any one experience anything similar?

Draw style for native OHE

There’s too steep a drop-off in flavor after the first heat up, so trying to figure out the best technique for native one heat extraction. If I take long pulls, am I removing too much heat at once? Should I be taking shorter puffs if I want to fully extract in one heatup? I keep the head at 50% airflow and flutter the airport. Running 2.5mm gem cut rubies.

DIY-Project for my TEDs

I did some crafts over the weekend. A cooling stand for the Tempest (waiting for the cool-down click is annoying...). And a stand for the existing (and future) TEDs (may it never be more than fit in the stand!)

1 year now with the T2

It's been a year now since owning the T2 and it's still my main go to daily. Note that I'm considered a pretty light user as I only use it to aid with sleep.

Just picked up the Ti sleeve for the T2 today, happy with the looks.

Old Man Designs grinder is another recent addition to my setup; very well built with amazing cnc precision.

I've only run my T2 with a jet torch to date, pretty happy with this setup. Yet to find a "silver" torch design that I like to match the aesthetics here, but the Xikar has been going strong for a year now.

Producing thick milky clouds feels like Russian Roulette to me

Hello friends,

I've had the Tempest 2 for about 6 months now, and I still can't seem to figure out how to get consistently thick, milky clouds—especially through a water piece.

Sometimes it works perfectly and the vapor is so dense it looks like I just took a hit from an e-hookah. Then the next session, the vapor is almost transparent, even though I haven't changed anything.

I'm heating the Tempest 2 with a powerful single-flame torch. I'm using the 3 mm ruby balls, and I have the cap air holes about 80% open.

How do you guys get those thick, dense clouds every single time? Any tips or techniques would be appreciated!

Emptied my AVB tray and didn’t notice all my balls had fallen out

What a blunder! Check before tossing into the garbage! At least I’ll replace the stock balls with Ruby.

Heat core disappointment with Tempest 2

I bought the Tempest 2 having the impression that it’s a portable ball vape, and after trying out the heat core today. I feel like I prefer the heat core more, but does that defeat the purpose of a portable ball vape? I still love my balls! I am currently using Ruby balls. Can any ball mimic Heat Core’s performance? Would I assume stainless steel?

Heater core mixed with balls?

Has anyone tried filling the outer of the heating core with balls. I wondered whether it might give some interesting experiences.

Like filling the outer with rubies because the flavour is good and the titanium outer has more thermal mass and might hold the heat a bit longer.

Heat core I was wrong!

My heat core arrived today, and I am bias towards balls since this is what makes Tempest special!

Oh boy after trying it, the cloud is bigger compared to my ruby. I can sip on the heat core like a J and the cloud is still good.

Love to hear your thoughts

Pushing the bowel further down

I noticed i can push the bowl further down. I׳ve yet to try smoking this way but is it viable/possible? I wanted to try but i’m afraid to make damage to my unit. What’s the worst thing that can happen? Messy stem? Uneven extraction? Did any1 tried to do it?

Stripping Heat Shield

I recently ordered the racing green T2 (basically the only color in stock) and have since seen the silver on Mad Heaters' website. It looks great but it's out of stock and a bit expensive so I've been trying to strip my green heat shield without a lot of success. I tried mineral spirits and some other kind of stripper that's a gel and neither did anything. I've removed most of the green sanding with 120 grit, but it's been slow going and I'm having a hard time getting in the crevices.

Has anyone stripped the heat shield or had experience stripping aluminum in general? I've seen in certain places online to use drano or oven cleaner, but these both use lye, which reacts with aluminum, so I'm nervous to try that.

I have a buffing wheel I need to get set up in the garage and I'm planning on using that for polishing, but would that be able to take off the remnants of the paint or do I need to get it completely silver before buffing?

Heat core new review update

After testing it extensively for a day, I kinda missing ruby! Not because it’s not strong, but the heat core increases my consumption and I can’t take a slow long lesson. It’s done by one hit extraction, which is not ideal and the flavor is horrible compared to ruby.

More experimenting is needed, like combining balls with heat cores, or putting balls inside the heat core.
