Has anyone else noticed some providers are weird af about references?

I’m not referring to providers who don’t associate with references at all.. I’m referring to providers who require them as part of their screening and may even reach out to receive a reference, but ignore and gatekeep attempts when asked to give a reference.

I’m pretty close to discontinuing the option as an alternative to RWI screening. I can’t deal with the cattiness anymore. I’m over having to explain to clients (who did nothing wrong) that this is sometimes how it is. And yes I have the client reach out for permission, yes I’m a well established provider who can be verified, and I’m mid-high end.

Scottsdale clients & providers

Not trying to fear monger, but I think this is an important PSA.

Scottsdale PD surveilled a well established provider and her boyfriend. This is especially concerning considering:

  1. they traffic stopped a client after he left her incall - client sang like a canary

  2. they were able to get through her screening and arrest her

  3. she sang like a canary and also got her bf arrested. (While he does sounds like a leech, he’s getting the bulk of charges even though she admitted he’s not a pimp, nor does he force her into her lifestyle. Weird to drag your partner into your mess)

  4. ⁠she is now cooperating with police. If you know anything about LE, that means she’s doing them a favor so they withhold her name (possible she has agreed to setup others

Be extra vigilant if you are a client or provider in AZ rn! Tough and sad situation for everyone. Open conversation (mods pls don’t remove - not spam)
