I love you all
So many of these posts, you know what I see? People who love each other. The public perception is that incest happens through grooming and abuse, but post after post on here shows that sometimes adults simply fall in love with each other through one circumstance or another--you know, like every other relationship! One thing leads to another, and people fall into feelings and a relationship. Sometimes it happens to people who are related whose relationship simply evolves. I'm not involved with a family member myself, though I have hopelessly crushed on a cousin and didn't dare say anything (crying myself to sleep about it multiple times).
Reading about someone who loves their mother and wishes they could tell the world, someone whose uncle passed away and is inconsolable and can't tell those around her why, and so many others... I ache for you. And how amazing it is that a parent can find love with an adult child but still be their parent when they need a parent, it's such a deep understanding of being there for another person the way they need them to be that so many of us "normal people"* *will never get to experience--to be so seen by the other person and loved in the moment for who we are. Your love, your bravery, I envy you, and I ache for you. Thank you for sharing your stories on here, and thank you for being who you are.
