Quitting/reducing smoking Zyn or Alp( or any others)
I've had Zyn a few different times and flavors 6mg, after Idk around 10 mins I can feel the nicotine, burns my gums quite a bit have only had Alp a couple of pouches also 6mg lemon raspberry and zero burn on my gums haven't had enough of them yet to determine how quickly they start working. I definitely liked the flavor better on the two Alps I have had and the no burn.
From a few articles I've read before coming here EVERY one I read on about 5-6 different sites said Alp has a much quicker onset due to the moist pouch etc. and isn't as hard on the gums, these weren't like ads for Alp or anything they gave pros/cons for both, then I came here and searched a few posts before making one and the ones I read here, much to my surprise people were saying the exact opposite lol. I also learned that there is a political endorsement angle which obviously will effect what some people on the internet will say about a product( I do NOT care one way or the other and it doesn't effect which product I will buy or like, at all.) As far as the burn I get it with Zyn no matter the flavor, with one flavor of Alp I got zero burn.
I smoke around 2 packs a day of "light" cigarettes for 25+ years and am looking to give my lungs a break for obvious reasons. So, which one hit's faster/harder, which one lasts longer? Flavor is subjective and I don't really need opinions on those much unless a specific flavor "seems" to hit better/faster etc. I'd honestly prefer it to taste like Copenhagen longcut lol. I used actual dip/snuff for a little bit to try and reduce but I can't do that at work around food etc and I am not some pro, I'm pretty messy with it and cannot "gut" it, makes me sick so I have to spit.
These pouches from what I understand are nicotine only and no other tobacco alkaloids etc. I know you don't have to spit and can freely swallow so my boss doesn't care if I use them at work. Do you guys think the 6mg option is too low should I go up to 9mg considering my stupid amount of smoking? I'm not sure Zyn offers more than 6mg? I can tell I have ingested nicotine but it has never been anywhere near an actual cigarette or Copenhagen(after 15m or so I can get a slight "buzz", believe it or not) dip takes longer to fully feel it working to me other than the fine cut snuff, but again I want something I can have at work. Especially one that hit's fast and is noticeable. I do notice the Zyns, dislike the burn, I'd estimate it takes around 10m to start to notice it. Haven't had enough experience with the Alp yet to judge when I start to notice.
So, considering my smoking habit, I definitely notice the effect from Cope strongly after 15 or so minutes but am interested in making these pouches work, should I up my dose, as they are at 6mg while I notice them I want them to have a bit more oomph. Really want to start replacing cigarettes with pouches over time down to none or very few. Any other brands that are comparable/as good? I just notice where I work those are by FAR the most popular two brands. Thanks for any answers or things I may have not thought to ask about. I tried to read the FAQ but it keeps going to a dead link.
Edit: The burn from Zyn is not something that will make me not use them, it's not that big of a deal. Just was throwing that out there.
TLDR: Alp vs Zyn which hits faster/harder? Trying to reduce smoking cigs. I smoke 2 packs a day, is 6mg too low or should I go to 9mg etc?
