Zyns vs Velos

Came to Greece with wintergreen zyns. Didn't get too much because I thought that I'll be able to find another zyn flavor that I like but this island only has velos.

JESUS F-ING CHRIST

velos have to be the most disgusting thing of all time, it's like putting a big chunk of sea salt in your mouth

More nicotine pouches just received marketing authorization from the FDA 👀

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized 17 additional products, including 6 on! and 11 ZYN Ultra pouches, with new flavors and strengths ranging from 2 mg to 11 mg.

For those of you who are curious, we broke down which products were authorized, what FDA market authorization actually means, and how the process works. 17 More Nicotine Pouches Authorized by FDA in 2026 | Nicokick

Pouch Market Review - VELO revenue up 220% while On! shipments fall in Q2

After reviewing the H1 2026 numbers, it seems the gap between brands is a lot wider than expected.

BAT: VELO revenue is up 220%, and volume is up 188% YoY. With VELO Max coming later this year, it's looking good for BAT.

PMI: record quarter on paper, net revenues up 10.4% and past $11B for the first time. ZYN shipments grew by 1.8%, and ZYN Ultra launched this summer and was noted as the first phase of their portfolio expansion - so can we expect more to come?.

Altria: the weak one? Q2 on! shipments down 4.2% YoY, and they missed profit estimates. They're responding with more on! Plus flavors, strengths up to 12mg, and wider distribution. So we will see how that unfolds going into 2027.

Turning Point Brands (ALP, FRE): modern oral revenue up 149%, gross profit up 40.6%, and ALP is launching in the UK and EU. The stock price isn't reflecting the gross revenue though and is still down 20%+.

Read more about it on our blog: https://prilla.com/us/blog/nicotine-pouch-market-report

ZYN growing 1.8% while VELO flies is what stands out to me. Is ZYN hitting saturation, or are people actually preferring VELO Plus? And with VELO Max on the horizon, will this make things worse for ZYN and its new Ultra line? It'll be interesting to see where things end up this time next year!

Quitting/reducing smoking Zyn or Alp( or any others)

I've had Zyn a few different times and flavors 6mg, after Idk around 10 mins I can feel the nicotine, burns my gums quite a bit have only had Alp a couple of pouches also 6mg lemon raspberry and zero burn on my gums haven't had enough of them yet to determine how quickly they start working. I definitely liked the flavor better on the two Alps I have had and the no burn.

From a few articles I've read before coming here EVERY one I read on about 5-6 different sites said Alp has a much quicker onset due to the moist pouch etc. and isn't as hard on the gums, these weren't like ads for Alp or anything they gave pros/cons for both, then I came here and searched a few posts before making one and the ones I read here, much to my surprise people were saying the exact opposite lol. I also learned that there is a political endorsement angle which obviously will effect what some people on the internet will say about a product( I do NOT care one way or the other and it doesn't effect which product I will buy or like, at all.) As far as the burn I get it with Zyn no matter the flavor, with one flavor of Alp I got zero burn.

I smoke around 2 packs a day of "light" cigarettes for 25+ years and am looking to give my lungs a break for obvious reasons. So, which one hit's faster/harder, which one lasts longer? Flavor is subjective and I don't really need opinions on those much unless a specific flavor "seems" to hit better/faster etc. I'd honestly prefer it to taste like Copenhagen longcut lol. I used actual dip/snuff for a little bit to try and reduce but I can't do that at work around food etc and I am not some pro, I'm pretty messy with it and cannot "gut" it, makes me sick so I have to spit.

These pouches from what I understand are nicotine only and no other tobacco alkaloids etc. I know you don't have to spit and can freely swallow so my boss doesn't care if I use them at work. Do you guys think the 6mg option is too low should I go up to 9mg considering my stupid amount of smoking? I'm not sure Zyn offers more than 6mg? I can tell I have ingested nicotine but it has never been anywhere near an actual cigarette or Copenhagen(after 15m or so I can get a slight "buzz", believe it or not) dip takes longer to fully feel it working to me other than the fine cut snuff, but again I want something I can have at work. Especially one that hit's fast and is noticeable. I do notice the Zyns, dislike the burn, I'd estimate it takes around 10m to start to notice it. Haven't had enough experience with the Alp yet to judge when I start to notice.

So, considering my smoking habit, I definitely notice the effect from Cope strongly after 15 or so minutes but am interested in making these pouches work, should I up my dose, as they are at 6mg while I notice them I want them to have a bit more oomph. Really want to start replacing cigarettes with pouches over time down to none or very few. Any other brands that are comparable/as good? I just notice where I work those are by FAR the most popular two brands. Thanks for any answers or things I may have not thought to ask about. I tried to read the FAQ but it keeps going to a dead link.

Edit: The burn from Zyn is not something that will make me not use them, it's not that big of a deal. Just was throwing that out there.

TLDR: Alp vs Zyn which hits faster/harder? Trying to reduce smoking cigs. I smoke 2 packs a day, is 6mg too low or should I go to 9mg etc?

Black cherry Zyns

Anyone know where I can get them in the US short of ordering? I found some at a convenience store at a beach 4 hours away on vacation there and it’s my all time favorite flavor, I only have 1 left so saving it for a special occasion. I read somewhere that it’s a newer flavor over here? Bc none of the gas stations or grocery stores in my area seem to have them

Finally got to try the alp drifers. At least one of them. Has anyone else tried these and what is your favorite flavor?

Ive been looking for these everywhere to keep from ordering online and a store in town finally had them. The pouch is definitely different and less moist but its still a really nice pouch and the flavor is really nice.

Anyone know anything about Nüm?

Been looking for a stronger pouch and the highest my local crackhead 7-11 sells is 9mg assorted brands. Went to check out the local Stop and Go across the street was disappointed to find only 3mg zyns until the cashier mentioned another brand further down the counter and stumbled across this pack that looks like the kind of stuff you’d get at an Iraqi Bazaar on deployment

One month since I quit vaping for pouches

It’s been one month since I quit vaping and started using pouches instead one of the greatest decisions I have ever made pouches are so much better for me the flavor the feeling all of it beats vaping in my opinion and it’s crazy that I was able to never look back after getting my first pouch cause I was a really bad vape addict I still have my vape from a month ago I haven’t had any desire to hit it even being infront of me my goal is to not let this pouch habit get as bad as my vape habit so I’m trying to take just 5 pouches or less a day whole goal is to eventually get off nicotine completely but it’s going to take time nicotine has been with me for 8-9 years now started with cigarettes-vapes-pouches

This stuff is so much better than vaping it’s insane

Vaped for 10 years, got on it in high school like a moron. I quit for a year and a half starting in 2024, but at the end of last year I relapsed all because I got nostalgic for cloves, which quickly led to me buying a vape again. Eventually I started absolutely running through disposables. I was downing a 30k Foger in 5 days regularly, never had it missing from my hand and would stay up all night vaping in bed. It got to a point where my lungs felt constricted, like I had asthma or something. I’ve tried to quit at least 30 times since starting again and never made it more than 16 hours. It’s so much harder this time than the first.

Desperate and running out of options, about a week ago I picked up my first can of Zyn, figuring it might work better than nicotine gum or patches did. To my surprise, it really takes the edge off the cravings. I started at 3, then 6, and am now settled around 9 as it gives me the longest time between pouches. I had a small relapse yesterday when I bought a Juul, but the magic is that I realized it fucking sucked. I’ve taken inventory of everything again and realized how much better these are than vaping.

No sneaking hits in places I’m not supposed to, no buzzing headache when I haven’t had one in a while, no batteries to charge, no gross burnt taste, no more anxiously chasing a good throat hit - just a nice little tin of tasty pouches that let me focus on other things than my stupid vape. I’m really glad I gave this a shot. Worked out that the menthol ice Zyn ultras and the melon chill Velo + are my favorite.

I finally got it 😂

Not the best hat but it is their best flavor. Wasn’t easy to get since my main pouch from them is spearmint and it’s hard to find spearmint cans with a code.

Loop pineapple ice review

Loop pineapple ice has the taste of pineapple and mint. Interesting combination but they taste good. The nicotine level is 8.9 mg per pouch so its not that strong. The taste lasta long. I paid approx 5 usd for a tin.

Ordering suggestions

This may not make any sense because I’m currently in the ER on Demerol. But is there a website in the US where you can order single cans? I want to try Joey but not commit to a 5 pack of them. I want to try several flavors

  • Price: ¥450
  • Flavors: Mint, Mango, Apple Ice
  • Where: Independent tobacco shops only
  • Note: Contains tobacco leaf (traditional oral tobacco / snus-style pouch), not a tobacco-free nicotine pouch

Key points

  • These four are the only brands with confirmed regular retail presence in Japan right now.
  • VELO, ZYN, and Nordic Spirit are the modern "white pouch" style (plant fiber + nicotine).
  • LUCY is the only one that still uses actual tobacco leaf powder.

If you want anything above 3 or 4mg, then the only option is VELO (both ZYN & JT Nordic Spirit are introducing higher nicotine content ones in August though). However, if you are good at 3mg (1-dot in the VELO system), then the other three brands are available. That being said, VELO offers the best cost-performance at JPY360 for 15 pouches.

I want to try these so bad!

I want to try these so bad! But there isn’t a Cumberland farm anywhere even remotely close to me. Zone is my go to brand and I have been hoping for a coffee flavor from them for forever. If anyone lives near one and could help a brother out, could you send me a dm?!

I’m desperate !
