Experience wearing a strap-on as a straight male, with a female partner?

I've struggled with ED for many years. I eventually learned to get very good with my hands and tongue, with a 100% success rate for multiple partners...but eventually, usually around the six month mark...they just need the real thing and end the relationship.
I have a new partner now, I disclosed up front as I always do, and she said she really likes me but also really needs the feel of a penis inside of her. She suggested maybe I should try to wear a strap-on to have sex with her.
This feels like a revolutionary idea to me -- the main challenge would be selling the idea to a new partner, but in this case it came from the new partner.
Anyone have experience trying this? And any recommendations on what to buy? She just asks that it be "realistic feeling." I'm a very large dude physically, so it would need to fit my body as well.
