Got a letter from my insurance today saying that my Phalloplasty has been approved, yay 🎉Approved from 8/30/26-9/01/26, that’s 3 whole days, errrg. I told my “contact person” that I still have months of electrolysis to do. I didn’t expect it was going to be approved for 3 weeks from now. Plus I still have to arrange for caregiving with T4T, they say not to contact them until you have a surgery date. Do doctors listen to what you tell them? Sorry for the rant ☹️

Is anyone having trouble getting in contact with the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Bassiri in particular? I messaged her in my chart asking if she has heard from my insurance about approval for stage 1. So far crickets. I called my insurance last week and they haven’t heard from her. My “my chart” message was a ”polite“ way of saying what the hell is taking so long!

I am in need of some underwear recommendations. I am currently pre-op and wear Tommy Hilfiger boxer briefs. I don’t really care for them, I always found them a bit saggy. I’ve lost 80 lbs and now they’re really baggy on me. I prefer cotton, but never tried bamboo how does it compare? I’d like to stick with boxer briefs, but i’d like them to be more briefy than boxery, if you know what I mean. I just want to buy 2-3 pairs to try out to see if I like them. Any ideas would be appreciated.
