Just curious but both my partner and I are bilingual but when we fight I always talk in English while they always talk in Japanese

Obviously we understand each other but seems when we get emotional during a fight we always revert to each others mother tongue. Is it the same for other couples in Japan?

So been talking to a girl not to far from me that has some similar interests and weve been calling a few times and chatting regularly on Line after she asked for my Line.

She asks pretty often when can we meet and calls me late at night, which I often dont pick up because Im asleep.

Note: my intention is not to make this a race related post but as a South Asian man I felt it was necessary considering recent posts and comments

Ive seen a lot of comments, posts and heard in person many men of South Asian origin complain that Japanese women are only interested in white foreigners

Seems they then make this a racism issue and inevitably lead to incel like comments. Id like to, from my experience, explain why such a mindset is incorrect/part of the problem

I am of South Asian descent but grew up in the West. Definitely afflicted with yellow fever but I have never had a problem dating Japanese or any other asians (Chinese, Koreans, Taiwanese, Phillipines, Vietnam, Malaysians, etc)

Im short, bald, not particularly muscular and imo have a kind of pudgy face and yet Ive dated many Asian women in/out of Japan so I dont believe its a looks thing

I know Japanese now but I mostly spoke English with various Japanese women I dated when I first moved here so I dont believe its a language barrier.

Im not rich but I do research nice restaurants and pay for the date without haggling or seeing cheap. So I dont think its a money thing.

If I had to say its a cultural barrier in what women expect from a man vs how south asian men act, particularly a gap in the following:

Hygiene
Fashion
Conversational ability (the accent doesnt help)
Paying for a date
Common sense
Non consensual physical contact (desperate men immediately trying to touch, kiss or get women drunk to take to a hotel)

While the above is an issue for various men of all races, its very noticeable in a large proportion of South Asian men that it makes it difficult for Japanese women to even give a good looking South Asian man a chance.

So if you wanna say Japanese women are racist for only going for white guys then blame other South Asian men who actually ruined your chance by creating a stereotype that women dont even wanna risk being involved with and instead work on being a more appealing man.
