I got a YLL IH 3.0 and new Molicel 21700 P45B batteries. Charged those fully using the YLL device and provided cable and had no problem with that. Then did one test cycle at low power (60W for 25 seconds) on my Tempest 2 to dry it out after deep cleaning as per manual. That worked fine, the IH heated, tempest sizzled, then YLL gave timeout message. I turned the YLL device off and put it away.

That was yesterday. Today day I go to turn it on and it's unresponsive. Simply no change when I press the power button any amount of times or holding. I plug it in wondering if batteries drained somehow and no response. I put spare new 21700 batteries in and plugged in and no response. To check if it's just the screen that's dead, I did the turn on sequence (press small middle button 3 times within 2 seconds) then pressed middle button and left button together which would normally turn on heating chamber light - still no response.

My YLL induction heater seems to have become a brick after one heating cycle. It has not been used to heat any herb yet. Any ideas on troubleshooting? I wrote to VGear where I got it by haven't heard back.

Alternatively, welcoming suggestions on reliable butane torches that work for T2 that I could look for locally 🙃

In the all titanium vs the aluminum models, is there anything different in the vapor path? What exactly, if so?

I thought it was just about the outer handle, a part that does not come into contact with the vapor/airflow path other than a tiny hole for the carb. But it looks like the mouthpiece itself is different on the titanium modems.

The Tempest 2 looks like a great all around vape. I'm trying to find a buy-it-for-life kind of dry herb vape to replace my first DHV an old Pax 2 on the fritz. Seems like T2 is the way to go.

Mostly I'd use it at home hanging out in one spot, so putting it on an induction heater to get it going is no problem. The option to use a torch is nice for campouts or something like that.

But what about walking around with the thing? If I'm traveling somewhere I may want to go for a walk, explore town and get out of no-smoking sections. Seems like it'd be hard to use on the go. A joint or Pax 2 just takes lighting or pushing a button and you can carry and enjoy it on the go. Does anyone use the Tempest 2 while walking around? How's that work for you? Are you able to use an IH to do so and which one?

Obviously smoking a joint on a stroll is not exactly discrete. But pausing a walk to hold a heater, or to torch a metal stick, seems like a different level of standing out.

Ideally I'd use an IH all the time. Seems like the T2 might balance in the YLL 3 well enough that you can just hold the heater and walk around while it heats up, then hold the T2 and put the heater away when it's ready. Would I be asking for burns or my pants on fire if I do that?
