Second attempt second fail to install

So I made a post last week where I had a first attempt and failed to install the spout due to being unable to rotate the retainer.

Today I tried again with the Ternence 8mm spout + a larger 11mm retainer.

Took some time but I managed to feel it rotate properly and slide down the spout while i was pulling out. Now another issue is it didn't "stick", they just both came out...

I repeated a few times managing to rotate the retainer and pull the spout cleanly through it with the same result.

I was not expecting this especially since I pushed the spout + retainer + the whole 3.5cm that the installation tool from the kit had, so it was in darn deep. I felt it travel down and felt the retainer rotate on the spout tip.

But every time I tried to pull it back up both pieces came out together with 0 resistance, not even a snag on the way.

Now Either I'm doing something very wrong and the angle or something is bad and fooling me (I was in seated position if it matters) OR, it means that my apparently small friend down there is roomier than it looks like and I need a way bigger retainer piece than 11mm?

I'm a bit frustrated now because I can't outright order a bawr titanium set and even if I did, I still don't actually know what the issue is, spout length, spout diameter, or just a much bigger retainer than 11mm.

If anyone has a better idea on how to try again with what I have, I would greatly appreciate it, at least so that I can cross out "user error".

Thank you all!

Tried and failed for now

So quick update on my earlier posts.

I managed to polish my 5.3mm ternence spout (it was a nightmare but it worked).

Cleaned everything washed cleaned again disinfected etc.

Applied lube, threaded the spout, insert ok that was easy no discomfort no resistance.

Pushed it deep using the smaller end of the thing/rod ternence provided, still good.

Put in the washer, same deep until half the tool was inside.

Then came the fumbling. Tried to rotate the darn thing but couldn't really feel the thing rotate. Tried to pull the dental floss to the tip of the tool go get it to line up, no luck, tried squeezing same.

I'm guessing the rotation of the washer should happen deep not shallow right? I couldn't feel for it regardless.

The I tried shallow and it started to sting inside the urethra towards the tip of the gland and oh boy that felt bad.

Maybe it wasn't enough lube inside or the dental floss (it is waxed) irritated or something.

Had to pee due to the stinging sensation and it was even worse și I gave up for today waiting for it to pass.

No blood, no stretching sensation just stinging.

I'm a bit lost when to try again not sure how to do it differently.

Any practical advice from the veterans?

I did watch some videos I do understand the principle but practice is killing me it seems.

Thank you.

Does a ternence spout have to be mirror finished on the inside?

As the title said I'm curious if the finish on a ternence spout should be mirror on the inside as it is on the outside.

I don't remember where I saw a similar post mentioning that mirror finish helps to not retain bacteria inside the spout tube especially for more than a few hrs of wear.

As I'm preparing for the first try insert I'm thinking whether I should grab my Dremel with a fine sandpaper and buffering paste to make it glossy instead of fine threaded as it arrived?

I imagine it should be fine for a few hours to try as is?

Does anyone have an opinion on this ?

Thank you!

Newb questions

So long story short, I finally worked out the courage to try this as I have 0 experience in sounding or stabbing my junk :).

Ordered the first 2 Smallest ternence sets the 5.3x28mm and the next one up more for the retainer than the actual spout.

Now the questions to the community, appreciate the help.

I never sounded so I haven't used a measuring sound so not sure about the retainer to use, otherwise I have faith my little guy wouldn't accommodate any bigger spouts but as I read more and more it seems that larger retainers than 10mm are quite common.

Given that I also have the next size up I believe it's 11mm:

  1. should I go for that on my first try?

  2. If the 10mm is too small would I injure myself if it pulls out?

  3. If all goes well how long to reasonably wear the first time?

  4. Can I jump straight to wearing it with my cage?

  5. Does anyone have experience with wearing ternence spouts? Is there any issue with long term wear without removal such as 2 weeks+ or more?

Not sure how many do this without proper measurements as I'm sure some will answer so please go easy on me .

Thank you.
