Missed opportunity for a threesome?! (F29 & M29)

My partner 29M and I 29F have been together for 4 and a half years. When we were first hooking up we very nearly had a threesome with one of my female friends on a drunken night out but it didn’t happen. We’ve been monogamous but have always spoken fairly openly about the prospect of experimenting. I do find the thought of it pretty hot but there’s another side of me that feels jealousy towards him being attracted to other women. Therefore I don’t know whether it’s emotionally a good idea, I trust him totally but I don’t know whether I’m secure enough in myself.

Anyway, this weekend we were at a wedding. One of the bride’s friends is a beautiful girl and super flirtatious. Her and I actually had a little peck whilst dancing, my partner saw it and mentioned to me after that she’d been flirting with him and he asked me whether I’d be up for a little fun if she wants to. I said I wasn’t sure but then afterwards felt super uneasy, I know we were all too drunk anyway and I ended up telling him that I wasn’t cool with it and didn’t feel good about her flirting with him.

Although a couple of days later, and with a sober mind, I’m worried we missed a really fun opportunity! She was a girl we don’t know and will most likely never see again, she was super good looking and seemed up for it. We live in a really small town so this opportunity will likely not arise any time soon and before I know it we’ll end up bloody married with kids 😂

Also for context, I am straight and still don’t trust my emotional maturity for the reality of the situation hahaha.

Should we have had a threesome?!

(UPDATE: we had a big ol’ chat tonight about the situation and my contradicting feelings and it was so good. We’ve decided it would be best to set some boundaries and take it slow to see what we’re actually happy doing. He said he’d be doing it WITH me, not for the other person, so is happy telling them to scat if needs be 😂 he also agreed that he could get into MFM which was a nice surprise, so we may end up trying both if the opportunities arise! I feel like a weight off my chest having talked it through, I think in the right situation and headspace with the right person it could be super fun. Very aware I also need to keep working on my self-confidence and feeling sexy and freeee)
