For Guys Going to Uni for the 1st Time

I’ve seen a lot of questions / discussions on here from younger guys that want to explore this activity and they don’t know how to approach it.

These are some suggestions that are based on the idea that respecting others and respecting yourself are fundamental to all types of successful relationships / interactions.

  1. Be direct - no one likes feeling like they’re being manipulated or that they’re on the receiving end of passive aggressive suggestions.

  2. Being direct doesn’t mean being an a-hole. It just means being honest

  3. Being direct also doesn’t mean the manipulative approach of jerking off at time when you know your roomie is likely to catch you. Because again, we’re respecting others enough to be engage with them honestly.

  4. Within the first week of the semester, have the conversation with your roomie about how you’re both going to handle jacking off. Just be open and casual about it. Something like:

“Hey man, so I don’t know about you but I’m used to jacking off in my room everyday back home. So, I don’t want create any awkwardness or cross any boundaries with you, what are the ground rules for dealing with my horniness in a way that’s okay with you; and also so you can take care of things as you need to too?

  1. If he doesn’t answer right away, give him 2-3 days to respond and then ask him if he’s thought about your question.

  2. Do what he asks in regards to jerking off in the room. Let him decide when he’s had enough of slinking off to the bathroom to deal with late night urges. He’ll revisit the ground rules once it becomes a chore.

7). Here’s the part about respecting yourself. Set clear boundaries and don’t let others pressure you into crossing them. You’ll likely become more open to things, but that’s for you to decide. Just as it is for them.

  1. If you are lucky enough to find a JO Bud be clear before hand about your boundaries and tell them you’re going to leave if they ask you if “is this okay” if they try to do something you’ve already said you’re not going to do. It’s a sign of maturity to be able both to say no and to receive no as an answer.

Sorry this is so long but I hope it’s at least a little helpful. And if you think differently than what I’ve written here, that’s okay too.

Most of all, good luck finding a great JO Bro!
