An update on my running out early situation (if anyone cares to read)

So I followed the majority of y’alls advice and asked for an increase in dosage and didn’t mention I overused. She did it. Woohoo! 🥳 Not a huge increase: 1mg (2.5x a day), instead of 1mg (2x a day), but I’m very relieved nonetheless. I want to thank everyone for the good advice, I was really torn on what to do.

A little extra info: I can pick it up today in about an hour, but it was a hassle getting Walmart to be ok with filling it. I don’t have insurance until next month and they were the cheapest according to my psych doc, and I figured they wouldn’t give a shit because they’re fucking Walmart. The pharmacist proceeded to lecture me on why benzos are bad and told me I should switch to propranolol. I’ve already tried that and I didn’t like it. He lectured me for about 10mins on how he doesn’t like doing this, but he’s going to do it for me. I’m thinking in my head, “shut the fuck up dude, I am well aware of how this drug works, I’ve had anxiety for about 20yrs, and this drug is a godsend for me.” The healthcare in this country (US) is truly bullshit.

TLDR: thank you all for the good advice and my psych doc wrote an increased dosage 🙌

Need some advice on whether this is a good or bad idea.

So I’ve been prescribed Clonazepam 1mg (2x daily) for about 8 months. Life has been extremely stressful lately, my best friend of about 25 years has cancer and he’s now in hospice on his death bed, definitely not going to make it… There’s some other stressful stuff going on too, but that’s the main thing.

Needless to say, I have not been taking it well at all and I’ve been taking quite a bit more than my prescribed dose. I will run out by Monday if I take 0.5 (1x) each day and they’re supposed to last until the 18th.

I also see my psychiatrist on Monday. It’s been 4months and this is when she usually will write me my new Rx with refills.

The question is: should I tell her that I over-used them and I’m about to run out? She’s actually pretty damn cool, she used to be a punk in the 80’s and we talked music for a while. I just really don’t want to get my prescription taken away. Not sure how she’s gonna take it.

I’m sure a lot of people have gone through this situation. I’d like to hear about y’alls experiences. Thanks a lot, and sorry this was a lot of text.
