Well, Vietnam set the bar so high that I don't think any other place can compete.

Anyways, I was in Hanoi and found this L2 place online. Due to local laws and police, nothing more than L2 is allowed in spas and apparently they are pretty strict about it. Anyways, I took a taxi there and was met outside on the street by a doorman. He said something on the walkie talkie and led me into the elevator.

As soon as I got off the elevator, I was greeted by an older lady and led into a waiting area with massage chairs that reminded me of the massage place from Rush Hour 2. This was the only part of the experience I did not like. I was really hoping to get out of here soon because there were other mongers in here, probably 4-5 guys, most with a friend or a group of guys.

A guy in a suit came over to me and handed me a menu. The shortest and cheapest option was 60min and included L1 and L2. The next level up was 80min and included L1 & L2 with a "finish wherever you like" clause. The next steps up were more time and more finishes.

I picked the 80min option which was priced about the same as what the house fee for a 80min massage would cost in the US, paid, then was led to a room. Let me say that this was the nicest massage room I've ever been in. There was a shower with steam sauna, bathtub, sink, urinal, and a large bed.

I sat down and a waiter brought in tea and fresh fruits. A few minutes later, a young woman, very thin, and early 20s came in. I'd give her a 9 out of 10. She was in a stunning black dress and heels. Her English speaking abilities weren't great, but she tried her best. She told me her name and said she was 20. She asked if I wanted the sauna and I said yes.

She turned on the sauna and I went inside. As I was in the sauna, she started running the bath. A few minutes later, I was burning up in the sauna, so I came out and she led me into the bathtub. At this point she was completely nude. Her body was very nice and the only negative I'd say was fake boobs which I'm just not a fan of.

In the bathtub, she poured water on me and then started lathering me up with soap. It felt like she really enjoyed this and wasn't just doing it because she was getting paid. She massaged my junk and parts under the junk, and was giggling the entire time. Finally, she faced away from me and sat in my crotch area and started washing my legs. During this time, I was able to touch whatever I wanted.

After the bath, we went to the bed and enjoyed some fruits and tea, then she got started on the massage while I was laying on my stomach. The best part was "nuru" gel which has this interesting cooling sensation. She poured some of that on and rubbed her boobs on my back, going up and down. Eventually she asked me to flip over and started with the same thing on my chest. Nuru gel with boob rub.

Eventually she moved lower down and got to work. I finished quickly after saving up for a few days, then she went over to the sink to spit and wash out her mouth. Then she came back to the bed and gave me more massage, snuggled, then ate more fruits and drank more tea.

My favorite part of the experience is that she felt like she enjoyed everything she was doing. Let's be honest, she was being paid, but she didn't feel like she was just going through the motions.

I travel to China several times a year and this is my second time trying a place. Before I even begin, I will say that despite most of the providers in the US being from China, trying this hobby in China is very difficult.

The problem is there is almost no published China specific hobby related info in English, so I normally start by looking on Apple Maps or Baidu maps for massage parlors, from there I check Dianping (best comparison is the reviews section of Google Maps) for reviews. I use the same criteria I use at home: sketchy looking non-descript location, late hours, and has photos of attractive women in their ads.

I found a place that fit the bill. It was in a 5 floor older building and had late hours. Other businesses on the floor were a pool hall and some random closed offices, so also a very good sign. From the entrance I could see a neon blue lit bar serving alcohol (also a good sign) and behind a hotel looking front desk. All over the establishment, I saw "no one under 18 signs" which is a very good sign. At the front desk there were 3 men in business suits. They pulled out a translate app and told me to sit in the next room. Then they brought me slippers and gave me a claim tag for my shoes.

Then I was handed a menu which had prices from 316CNY to 489CNY. All of it was in Mandarin. With the help of translate, I picked the 90min option which listed 30min back massage, 30min chest massage, 20min leg massage, and 10min inner leg massage. It was not the cheapest, nor most expensive option. Then the guy asked me to pick a massage oil which was an additional 60CNY. Out the door, the massage plus oil was 488CNY. I asked via translate who would provide the massage and he said "beautiful young girl".

He led me back to a very nice room with a bathtub, shower, projector TV, and bed. I paid via Alipay and waited. A few minutes later, a mid-20s girl, I'd give her a 7/10, came in wearing a white uniform (not a good sign) and provided me some disposable boxers to put on (also not a good sign), then she left. My last massage experience had these same boxers and it didn't end well. Anyways, I undressed, put them on, and waited on the bed.

She came back in and started the massage. I will say the massage was excellent, likely the best and most detailed I've ever had. During the last 15min, she tore open the sides of the boxers and put her hands underneath and focused on my groin area and gave me a prostate massage, but never once touched the parts. I thought for sure L1 would be automatic because no legit massage place anywhere else in the world does prostate massages like this. She eventually stopped and told me something in Mandarin which I didn't understand. Translate app told me she said "time's up" and before I could even process everything, she left the room, never to be seen again.

My last massage in China ended the exact same way. "Time is up" with nothing else offered. The last time I explicitly asked for L1 at the end and was given a price that was absolutely bonkers, even more than we pay in the US. For this time's massage, I told myself that if L1 wasn't included and provided without asking, I wasn't going to pay a dime extra.

Who knows, maybe I messed up by not asking for L1, but I'm sure it would have been an extra charge, and I really wasn't in the mood to be paying more money and haggling when I had already paid more than I regularly do in the US for a standard non-monger 90min massage. I showered, put on my clothes, and left.

This experience left me a bit confused and maybe it's because I don't understand the Chinese spa culture. Why would the front desk guy say a "beautiful woman" is giving the massage if nothing else is to be offered? Why would they serve drinks and have late hours?
