I stumbled across it when I clicked on a profile from another reddit about moral philosophy.

I recently saw the Korean film Oldboy from 2003, where consensual incest played a large part of the film's themes.

Of course, many people praised the film for it's quality but were disgusted by the incest aspect.

For context, I'm a conservative Christian with a "live and let live" sort of mindset, so it just annoyed me to see people dunk on the siblings of the film for having a mutual romance, thinking that there may have been coersion taking place.

They used to say the same thing about homosexuals, and I still know people who are disgusted by LGBTQ+ ideas while practicing things that are unbiblical like sex and cohabitation before marriage. It greatly annoys me.

So it's frustrating to see people trash on others while failing to uphold their own sexual moral standards. Though I may not approve of some ideas that may be different from mine, I find it to be cruel when we harrass those who are not technically doing any harm to others for their lifestyle.

Anyways, sorry for the rant there and back to the point.

Did any of you see the film Oldboy? If so, how did the incest plot impact you?
