My Private Paradise

The creek flows around the hill behind me. I had just climbed down from the top to find a fallen tree to rest on before continuing my hike down stream. It's moments like these where I can stop, look around, and absorb my peaceful surroundings, far separate from and undisturbed by civilization. And for this moment, in my natural state, I harmonize with nature.

A Soul Connected

A liquid serenade cascades down stepping rocks and soothes my soul. Hiking in creeks has many benefits. For one, the beauty is heightened as water, rocks, trees, and clouds combine to create masterpieces to behold around every corner. Because creeks usually flow at the bottom of gorges, I feel enveloped by my surroundings in my own private wonderland. Few people venture down there as the hike can be difficult, even dangerous for those not acquainted with the particular challenges. This is why, in a public park, I feel safe wondering the creeks clothes free. In such a state I can't help but feel connected to nature--a true eden, tranquil and serene--that springs up in me a well of peace with which the cares of this world cannot compete.

Do not disturb...

These were taken on my second hike this season. It's a popular park that a lot of people go to. This creek flows through the middle of it. It's a bit risky, but not many people hike down in the creek. Especially since there are so many fallen trees, some of which are difficult to get passed. The first photo has me on one of them. The last photo is me as I was climbing up onto it.
