I genuinely thought y’all were nerds. Why are some of you behaving like sex offenders?

Perhaps I misunderstood the demographic.
I came to the sugar side of Reddit expecting successful, slightly eccentric men. Engineers. Executives. Finance types. Men with demanding careers, obscure hobbies, excellent restaurants tucked away in their notes app, and perhaps a little too much disposable income.
In other words: nerds with provider instincts.
Charming.
What I did not anticipate was how many grown men apparently interpret a woman expressing interest as permission to immediately speak to her like an object they have rented by the hour.
And no, prudishness is not the issue.
I adore intimacy. I love SEX, passion, chemistry, tension, desire…all of it. But sexuality without seduction is painfully dull. There is nothing sophisticated or dominant about abandoning all social grace the moment a woman gives you attention.
Ask me what I’m studying. Notice something about me. Make me laugh. Tell me where you want to take me. Let there be a little anticipation.
Seduce me before you interrogate me about my anatomy.
You are supposedly accomplished men. You negotiate contracts, oversee employees, manage portfolios, navigate divorces, raise children, run companies.
Surely you can survive six messages without behaving like access to a woman has caused a complete neurological event.
And perhaps that is the strangest part.
A man can have money, status, and an impressive résumé and still reveal within minutes that no amount of professional success ever taught him how to make a woman want him.
That is not sexually adventurous.
It is socially incompetent.
I came looking for an intelligent, generous man with a slightly nerdy disposition, beautiful manners, and enough confidence to understand that a woman enjoying sex does not mean she wants to be spoken to like a malfunctioning porn algorithm.
Please return the nerds.
Some of their replacements are deeply concerning.
