How do dark romance books like Haunting Adeline not get hit by Amazon's content restrictions?
There's an ever increasing amount of dark romance erotica on Amazon that deals with topics like dubcon and noncon, Haunting Adeline in particular has the infamous gun scene.
From what I've read in this sub and elsewhere, these are kinks and fetishes that are strictly a no for Amazon and will inevitably get your book taken down.
Yet books like HA are hugely popular and successful on Amazon.
What's the reason for them not being policed in the same way?
The only difference I can really divine is down to perception - a 500-page books marketed as 'dark romance' means you can get away with it, whereas the equivalent scene in a 10k word erotica would be taken down?
Essentially I'm trying to pin down how I can write these kind of scenes and remain published on Amazon. Currently it seems like I just need to pad out a short to a full length novel heh.
