The wanted pirate and the runaway princess

“I’ll give you one hundred gold,” the princess offered firmly as she stood aboard the deck of the most dangerous pirate ship on the sea. “One hundred gold… and all I require in return is safe passage out of this kingdom.” Her eyes landed on the captain of the ship a woman the princess had heard countless stories about.

Stories that made grown men shiver at the mere mention of her name. “Do you know what you’re asking me, little flower?” the pirate asked as she slowly approached the princess. “You are a princess… an heir to the throne. Your king will stop at nothing to get you back.”

“My father can burn in hell for all I care,” the princess snapped back. To her surprise, the pirate smiled. “Fine…” the captain smirked. “I’ll grant you safe passage. But as you know, Princess, much like you, I am a wanted woman. So, I hope you don’t cause me any trouble.”

The pirate’s voice lowered into a whisper as she closed the distance between them. “I would hate to have to throw such a pretty thing overboard.”

For a brief moment, she simply stared at the princess before turning away and beginning to walk off. “You’ll bunk with me until we arrive, so unpack your things and,”

“I’m sorry… bunk with you?” the princess interrupted, confused. The pirate stopped and glanced back at her. “Well, if you’d rather sleep in the brig with my crew, then,”

“No!” the princess answered quickly. “Bunking with you shall be alright.” The pirate nodded once.

“Good. Then put your things away and find somewhere to be useful. If you’re going to tag along, you might as well pull your weight.”

And just like that, she was gone.

With this prompt, I’d love to explore a potential lesbian awakening story.

The idea is that the princess is fleeing her home kingdom to escape an arranged marriage to a prince. While most princesses would jump at the chance to marry royalty, this princess has always been different. She’s never looked at men with admiration or longing mostly annoyance. She doesn’t hate them; she simply doesn’t find them attractive.

But during her journey with the pirate, she begins experiencing feelings she’s only ever heard about in stories: her face turning bright red, her heart racing whenever the pirate gets too close, and constantly thinking about her even when she’s gone.

Of course, the princess initially believes something must be wrong with her, which I think could make for a really sweet story as the two of them slowly figure out what these feelings mean and what they mean to each other.

I Thought You Were Dead [FxF- Dark Romance/Zombie Apocalypse]

The setting for this prompt takes place six years into a zombie apocalypse.

-Background-

Our characters had been traveling together in a small survivor group for three of those six years. During that time, they had grown incredibly close to one another. Though they had never officially labeled their relationship, everyone in the group assumed they were together. It was simply understood that Muse A loved Muse B, and Muse B loved Muse A.

One day, while the group was searching for a place to rest, Muse A was attacked by a zombie. Muse B immediately jumped in to help. In the struggle, she managed to kill the zombie but not before being bitten herself.

The moment the group realized what had happened, panic spread through the room. Everyone knew what a bite meant. Some members argued that they should kill her immediately. Others suggested tying her up and abandoning her somewhere far away from camp. Throughout the entire argument, Muse A remained silent.

Eventually, the group turned toward her. Given how close the two of them were, everyone silently agreed that Muse A should decide Muse B’s fate. So when Muse A finally spoke and suggested they shoot Muse B, the room erupted into chaos.

Those against the idea immediately protested, while the others began reaching for their weapons. Muse B stood frozen for a moment. Deep down, she understood why Muse A had made that choice. She understood the fear. The risk. The impossibility of the situation.

But understanding it didn’t make it hurt any less. So before anyone could stop her, Muse B ran. She barely made it to the door of their hideout before a gunshot rang out.

The bullet struck her in the back, and she collapsed.

\-Where We Start-

It had been almost two years since that day. Every single day since losing Muse B, Muse A had regretted her decision. She could still see the betrayal on Muse B’s face. Still remember the way her body hit the floor after the gunshot.

The memory replayed in her head endlessly. After that day, Muse A became a shell of the person she used to be. She didn’t laugh anymore. She rarely smiled. She barely interacted with the group unless absolutely necessary, and she avoided getting close to any newcomers.

Lately, she had even started considering leaving the group entirely. After all, it was hard to remain somewhere that constantly reminded her of Muse B. But before she could leave, the group heard rumors about an underground bunker supposedly untouched by infection. According to the stories, it had clean water, food, electricity everything survivors could ever need.

All they had to do was make it there. For the first time in years, Muse A allowed herself to hope. Maybe this place could be a fresh start. Maybe she could finally move on.

So the group packed their things and began the journey.
It took them four months to finally reach the bunker. Several times along the way, people wanted to give up. Supplies were running low, exhaustion was setting in, and the bunker itself sounded far too good to be real.

But when they finally arrived, they were stunned. The bunker was real. It was packed with survivors.
The group was welcomed inside, fed warm meals, allowed to shower, treated by doctors, and given safe beds to sleep in for the first time in years. The people running the bunker explained that they had been incredibly lucky years ago they had encountered someone immune to the virus.

Thanks to that person, they were able to establish the bunker, protect survivors, and even begin researching a possible vaccine. So while Muse A and her group were settling into their temporary room, the door suddenly opened.

And Muse B walked in. Immediately, the entire group froze in shock. Before anyone could say a word, the bunker staff rushed over to introduce her proudly explaining that she was the immune survivor responsible for helping build the bunker into what it was today.

—————-/////

Now that you’ve read the prompt, I’d love for this story to be filled with a bit of toxicity, tension, angst, and unresolved emotions.

After all, both Muse A and Muse B have years of pain, guilt, betrayal, and lingering feelings between them. Muse A believed Muse B was dead for years, so seeing her suddenly alive, healthy, and apparently immune would stir up an overwhelming amount of emotions shock, relief, guilt, love, grief, and fear all at once.

Meanwhile, Muse B still struggles to trust people after what happened. Even if she understands why the group made their decision, it doesn’t erase the pain of being abandoned and shot by the people she loved most.

Most importantly, I’d like to explore the complicated relationship between Muse A and Muse B. Will they eventually work through their differences and finally get the relationship they were denied years ago? Or will Muse B hold onto her resentment and make Muse A’s life in the bunker a living hell? There are so many possibilities.

Which will you pick?
