2 months post-op: daily discharge, painful bowel movements. Is it normal?
Hi, 2 months ago I underwent surgery for multiple hemorrhoids (internal, external, and mixed) using a combination of LHP (laser hemorrhoidoplasty) + a conventional hemorrhoidectomy for the largest one.
Even after 2 full months I am still experiencing:
- Daily discharge (which increases after a bowel movement)
- Swelling/a lump that gets larger after bowel movements
- Mild pain/discomfort lasting for 2-3 hours after a bowel movement
- A minimal amount of blood in my stool
- Recent perianal dermatitis/eczema (likely caused by the discharge and friction).
My last follow-up was 1 month ago, and my doctor told me that everything was healing well and there were no complications. My next check-up is in a few days.
I wanted to ask: in your experience, is this normal? Does it usually take this long for post-op symptoms to completely go away?
Also, I tried going back to the gym and lift very light weights, but I immediately felt discomfort in the area and had to stop.
Thanks!
