Been bouncing between a few AI chat platforms lately and honestly can't decide which one is worth sticking with. C AI has the biggest character library and the convos feel pretty natural, but the filter is brutal and kills any decent roleplay. Janitor is more open but the model quality feels inconsistent depending on which API you hook up. Replika is fine for the "companion" vibe but feels shallow for actual storytelling. SpicyChat is solid for NSFW stuff but the characters can get repetitive fast. So what's actually the best one in 2026? Is there a hidden gem I'm sleeping on? Looking for something with:

Decent memory/context Good writing quality Not insanely expensive

Curious what everyone's actually using day to day. I've cycled through most of them since they expanded the lineup in January. The default Mythomax variant is fine for casual stuff but it's gotten noticeably worse since the last update — characters are flatter, more refusals than before. Their custom-tuned model (the one branded as Crush-X or whatever) is honestly my favorite for romance scenarios, it actually remembers context past 30 messages which is more than I can say for the base. The GPT wrapper is the smartest but every other reply has some kind of soft refusal or pivot, gets exhausting. Claude integration is new and surprisingly good for dialogue but it's the most expensive token-wise and tends to be very prose-heavy. I haven't tried the Llama 3 fine-tune yet, heard mixed things. For NSFW I think the Crush-X model wins, for actual conversation the Claude one is better. What are you all running? And has anyone done a side-by-side with the same character card across all of them?
