The Kingdom of Ameris, had been invaded at the start of the 20th century. A war sprung upon them by a neighbor who had for all intents and purposes, was like a brother. These two were hand in hand, their people nearly similar. From their coast, the invasion occurred. Their small army had done their best to hold the line. Loss after loss but they endured each battle. Months after the initial fighting, pushed far from their capital that was nestled by the coast, a line was formed at their mountains.

The scouts, soldiers who specialized in fighting in this area, would hold as the remaining army would march past their trenches into exile through a nation who begrudgingly let them through. One of these soldiers, a young man named Matteo, fought for days with whoever was left.

The losses they took, helped ensure the last of their men could escape into safety. When it was clear that they could no longer hold, they left. His last thought as Matteo climbed down the mountains? The thought of his family, and a son he hoped to see again...

This story is meant to be a recalling of Matteo's life from his journey to find his way back home to his son and grandparents, with his fate left unclear. This roleplay would be set with our characters deciding that. This world setting is similar to Earth during the same time period with one difference, magic was real, but disappeared from the common eye. So mythical races such as orcs, elves, and so on? They exist here or at least disappeared from the sight of humans.

All characters and users must be/will be 18+ only! No exceptions. There will be hard topics such as death, mourning, violence, language, and many others. No smut involved! I do 1-2+ paragraphs!
