I don’t want a man who “allows” me to be independent
I don’t want a man who “allows” me to be independent because the entire premise is embarrassing. If I have a career, travel, dress how I want, keep my own money and make decisions about my own life, that is not because some man generously approved my application. I actually like masculine men. I like confidence, competence, physical strength and men who know exactly who they are. What I do not find masculine is treating female autonomy like a privilege you can revoke the second your ego gets uncomfortable. If you are genuinely powerful, why would my freedom threaten you? I would much rather have a man who sees an ambitious, opinionated, independent woman and thinks hot than one who immediately starts drafting household legislation because his girlfriend went outside without requesting permission. The really confident ones do not need to shrink you. They just assume they can keep up.
