3 months post-op with Mr Ollandini (Chelsea & Westminster), AMA if you’d like
Wanted to share some surgery results for a while now but couldn’t find the motivation to compile my thoughts into a post. However there aren’t that many post-op results from C&W so I wanted to give back to the community, so to speak.
The procedure: I had meta with UL + hook up, scrotoplasty with implants, v-nectomy. All the steps are done in one stage.
Please feel free to ask me anything about the surgery itself, the hospital and team, or any other thing about the process. Further below are my own thoughts of how I feel about the results:
In general, I’m moderately happy with my results now that I’ve had more time to heal but there are a few issues and some things that I’m not happy about however in no way do I regret going for this surgery.
-I’m very happy I went with v-nectomy and I’m glad that it healed well and complications-free (I was very worried about the possibility of a remnant). It is genuinely such a relief to not feel anything there apart from skin and I only realised how much this has been impacting my quality of life after the surgery where I finally felt right.
I feel very similarly about my balls and I’m glad I opted for implants, it just feels right to have them. During my consult I’ve been told that fitting the implants might be slightly challenging in my case because I didn’t have that much skin there to fill and that they might end up sitting pretty close to the body because of this. Being close to the body is something I’m okay with however my left nut has settled to sit more next to my cock and not below/behind it which I find annoying and don’t like the look of.
I’m not a fan of the bifid technique this team uses and in an ideal world would’ve preferred a VY scrotum but overall having the surgery sooner and being done with it was more important to me so I compromised here. I do like the way the scrotum looks from some angles but dislike it from others. Considering that previously there was no angle from which my junk looked good to me this is still a massive win.
The balls also definitely sit more towards the front and don’t get in the way of my legs but that’s not as much the surgical technique as it is specific to my particular anatomy - I had a good starting point in terms of visibility and positioning so YMMV. Also, they do contribute to a small but distinct bulge in tight underwear so that’s really cool. Not much volume but definitely a much more masculine shape which has absolutely eased my dysphoria around this!
I’m pretty average in terms of size so there isn’t much to look at and I didn’t expect much either but again I was a good candidate in terms of positioning and it carried through - my cock is kind of visible even from a side.
STPing was a stretch goal but to me even rerouting the urethra to the tip so I could pee from my penis was important hence why I went with UL. The connection to the original urethra opening healed very well but, unfortunately, the shaft never quite healed right and I’ve developed a fistula at the penile-scrotal angle which is a common one to have. Even more unfortunately, it seemed impossible to plug, the extra time with the SP catheter didn’t help and at around 5 weeks my body just couldn’t tolerate the catheter any longer.
As a result, I pee through the fistula and it’s a messy one with a skin bridge and possibly a smaller one above it so I can’t really get a single clean stream with it. It also is loud and makes me feel extra dysphoric, even worse than before surgery.
At 3 months this is a permanent feature. I know that it’s possible to attempt a fistula repair but it really upsets me that I’d need another surgery for it when the hope was to be done with surgery. I’m also skeptical that it can be repaired that easily and I’m waiting for my follow up with the team to ask precisely what options we have and how would they go about the repair and what is the chance of success. I’m not excluding the possibility that I may just have to live like that and it may not be worth it to go through another surgery. On the other hand, if I do, they might do some other revisions like fix the ball that is riding high - all of this is speculation, I will confirm on my next appointment.
I have pictures throughout the healing process and will probably put together a proper timeline post/surgery journal but sometime later.
