Doc prescribed Ativan for flight anxiety, but already have a klonopin script

The psych provided my girl a temporary Ativan script for flight anxiety and to make it through a long flight, but she already had a kpin script for panic attacks which basically neutralizes her already. Not really sure why she got written the other script and her psych seems a little clueless tbh (prescribed her kpins knowing she just got out of rehab… I gotta lock those up for when she really needs em or ykw happens lol), so really struggling to understand why she was given Ativan when she already had kpins and know they work. My girl didn’t ask the psych why of course 🤦‍♂️ so tryna figure out if any of yall might have an idea if Ativan would be better for a flight for some reason or if this doc is just kinda retarded which would check. Did some research but didn’t really get much insight. Kpins def seem the more fun route lol.

Is the psych actually onto something or just room temp iq?

The current state of harm reduction tools & thoughts on surveys?

Feel like we got some crazy collective niche drug combos knowledge and experiences that could be used to really help with harm reduction. I been thinking about building some community tools as a software dev to help people avoid unnecessary fucking themselves up while experimenting with drugs and dealing with addiction.

Been a dev for a while but it all feels so fucking meaningless, just making some stupid product for a stupid company so they can exploit people and make money. Not what I want to be remembered for, I just want to make the world a better place. And our governments don’t gaf about taking care of us or actually doing proper drug education or harm reduction and stopping needless death, just lining their pockets. If the people who are supposed to be taking care of us won’t, then I truly think we are on our own and it’s up to us to look out for each other and the younger generations of users.

I think psychonaut wiki and tripsit and erowid are all great starting points and are far better than nothing, but feel so incomplete. FFS psychonaut wiki doesn’t even have the rectal dosages listed for k, and trying to submit contributions require email applications. How is the knowledge base going to grow or keep up with the speed at which the drug scene changes operating like this.

The real knowledge is the tribal knowledge held by experienced users and their circles. I know most of any of the knowledge we have is anecdotal and none of us our out here running studies, but it’s a lot better than going off nothing.

I think the two biggest current issues are the barrier of getting knowledge from the people that have it, and having it served and accessible in a user friendly way. A wiki article is great, but trying to figure out of if I mix X, Y, and Z, will I be good? Is more friction than most people wanna deal with. We get the warning icons on psychonaut, but half the time they’re wrong or misclassified, and when they aren’t they don’t give any details on what the interaction actually does, the level of risk, any experience reports on why it’s justified being put in the category it is.

All in all there’s a lot to be desired. All the users and especially the new ones I be running into just take whatever and don’t give a shit until they learn the hard way. It doesn’t have to be that way. We all know we taking risks by doing drugs, but there are so many unnecessary risks that always lead to a really bad outcome (mixing the wrong shit, doing the wrong dosage, doing the wrong ROA, doing the wrong drugs in the wrong environments, not learning or being exposed to harm reduction techniques, not spacing doses to avoid WDs). Figuring all this shit out on your own and managing to not fuck up the rest of your life is a monumental task at this point and it doesn’t have to be this way, or at least be better.

I’m thinking an app with a combination of a wiki for raw info trip reports (of course), but better, modern, overdue features - a session manager, log your drug plans for the night, flags negative interactions and what they are (with user reports attached to help people not brush the recs off), as well as the severity. Suggested timings for dosing. Profiles on each substance and what to expect. Supplements to take, the environments you’d want to be in and which ones you’d want to avoid. Dosages, response limits, warnings, suggestions of what to swap out or what you can safely swap in. Tracking dosages and dependence curves, half lives, what’s in your system, when you’re clear for a drug test. Clear guidance on getting shit tested affordably and why it matters. Making it easy as a button press as users (especially drug users) won’t bother with a complex series of hoops to jump through just to test their shit and be safe about it. Cutting edge Strats to getting clean form different substances (Strat varies quite a bit by drug. Rehab doesn’t do a very good job of helping stim users vs opiate users vs alcoholics, and rehab knowledge is so far behind what we have available today 7-OH, SR-1708. Adderall XR for abstinence form coke. Mushrooms for alcohol and coke addiction. Ibogaine. The list goes on and on. They just group em all together and do the bare minimum so they can make more money. It’s like treating schizophrenia and depression exactly the same. Most support groups suck and all religious. More alienating than anything).

Fun stuff too like rankings on users favorite combos, all in a modern, user friendly design that people will ACTUALLY use.

The blocker I see is getting the data from the community. I’m still in the brainstorming phase and any thoughts or criticism is welcome, but I’m just feeling out the community and seeing if there’s interest in making something like this as a community and if people would be open to answering surveys to help younger users avoid the same pitfalls and mistakes they hit themselves.

We gotta steep up and look out for each other as it’s clear the people that are supposed to never will as long as their pockets get lined and the DEA keeps getting seizures so they can play with their fancy toys and paid their hundreds of hours of OT on our time to make no noticeable change.

Let me know want you guys think, if this has been attempted before, interested in contributions or surveys to gather the data (make we can think of a fun way to encourage participation) as well as maybe any other devs with the same passion who really want to make a difference in this world for the better.
