Better safe than sorry!
Been sexually active since I was 15. Especially during my early 20s, I messed around a lot and never really thought seriously about getting tested. Siguro dahil feeling mo bata ka pa and nothing bad will happen to you. But recently, a friend of mine got diagnosed with HIV. What really got to me was the fact na asymptomatic siya — wala siyang nararamdaman at all. His girlfriend was actually the one who pushed him to get tested.
That honestly scared me. Pauwi ako galing work when I decided to stop by Klinika Project 7 around 9PM and finally get myself tested. Habang naghihintay ng result, sobrang kaba ko kasi hindi ko alam paano ko haharapin if positive. The staff were really professional and accommodating though, which helped a lot. Around 30 minutes later, I got my result and thankfully it was negative. Definitely a wake-up call for me to be more careful moving forward. If you’ve been putting it off like I did, go get tested. Peace of mind matters too.
For my brothers and sister there, please be a responsible adult and get tested. There are clinics who offer free testing and are opened until 11pm.
