No, To Love Ru isn’t continuing as a new series.

After TLR Darkness ended, 17 new TLR chapters were released between 2017 and 2026:

1. (2017) Multiplication Part 1

2. (2017) Multiplication Part 2

3. (2018) Rito Turns into a Thermometer

4. (2019) Rito & Sayaka After School

5. (2019) Rito Takes a Bath with Momo

6–15. (2020-2021) Ten short 3-page chapters included in the TLR Darkness Bunko Edition

16. (2023) Mikan & Maruru

17. (2026) Rito☆Slime, which was just released yesterday

The problem is that these chapters were originally published in thicc hundreds-pages magazines. So if you wanted to collect them all, it was pretty difficult because you would have to buy every single magazine, from Japan. Those magazines contained hundreds of pages of content from various series, while the To Love Ru chapters only took up around 20 pages each.

Another thing is like buying the complete TLR Darkness set, volumes 1–18, only for a reprint to suddenly be released with a new chapter added at the very end. If you already owned the original volumes, you’d be out of luck because those new chapters wouldn’t be included in your collection, only on those new Bunko-reprints.

So, eventually, all 17 of these chapters were collected together and published as a separate volume called “To Love Ru Parade.”

Yeah, as expected, the story focuses on Nana and Kotegawa in the Disciplinary Committee. Now, it’s not just the Principal who poses a threat to them. Nemesis has been added to the list too.

This is the magazine issue where the new TLR chapter will be released. It will contain 25 pages, with a full-color cover, while the manga itself will remain black and white.

I have a strong feeling that the new chapter will mainly focus on Kotegawa, judging from the merchandise. I don't dislike her or anything, but it feels a bit underwhelming for something as grande as the "To Love Ru 20th Anniversary." Still, I hope I'm wrong.

That said, don't expect a major story that will move the plot forward. It will most likely be another fun and lighthearted chapter.

While Child-Lala only need 1 week to recover into her normal self (ch. 44-56), Toddler-Gid need approximately 8-10 years until he can back to his prime self.

If To Love Ru Anime somehow getting another season (TLR Darkness 3rd as Final Season), adult Gid will be voiced by Kengo Kawanishi. He voiced teen Gid during Sephie's flashback in TLR Darkness OVA 8.

This new chapter will be published in Jump GIGA, a seasonal magazine that is released four times a year. Both To Love-Ru and Yuuragi-sou no Yuuna-san will receive a new chapter in the Summer Issue.

Here’s the actual, fully comprehensive order for experiencing To LOVE-Ru. And no, you can’t really be an “anime-only” viewer. Reading hundreds of chapters of the TLR manga may seem like a hassle also, but you should at least read the mandatory chapters needed to properly connect the story and fill in the gaps left by the anime.

There are also many incorrect episode numbers and misleading watch orders circulating online, which makes the series even more confusing to follow. So this time, I’ll explain the complete order based on the official Japanese sources, including the specific manga chapters you should read to fill in the gaps.

1. Season 1: To LOVE-Ru, Eps. 1–26

This part is pretty obvious, but there is one important thing to keep in mind: Season 1 is largely anime-original and is not considered a faithful adaptation of the manga.

Before we continue, what exactly are the To LOVE-Ru OVAs?

The To LOVE-Ru OVAs were DVD bundles included with the Limited Edition releases of selected TLR manga volumes (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18).

2. To LOVE-Ru OVA 1 (Bundled with TLR vol. 13)

This chapter takes place during Rito’s birthday, when Lala gives him a giant flower from Planet Plantas as a present.

This is where that giant flower first appears in the anime.

7. Manga: To LOVE-Ru, Ch. 89

This is the chapter where Oshizu, the ghost, receives her own Android body, created by Mikado-sensei.

8. To LOVE-Ru OVA 5 (Bundled with TLR Vol. 17)

This is where Human Oshizu first appears in the anime. However, the anime never explains how she obtained that body, so reading Chapter 89 beforehand fills in that missing information.

9. Manga: To LOVE-Ru, Ch. 124-128

These chapters explain how the giant flower eventually transforms into the baby form of Celine that we know and love.

10. To LOVE-Ru OVA 6 (Bundled with TLR Vol. 18)

This is where Baby Celine first appears in the anime, again without explaining how she became a baby. The manga chapters above provide that missing context.

11. Season 2: Motto To LOVE-Ru, Eps. 1–12

This one is pretty straightforward. Starting with Motto To LOVE-Ru, the anime becomes a much more faithful adaptation of the manga.

The anime specifically selected several interesting stories from later parts of the manga and rearranged them for the series. It even used the final chapter of the original To LOVE-Ru manga as the final episode. Honestly, they did a great job with that.

12. Manga: To LOVE-Ru, Ch. 148–151

Yes, these chapters technically take place before the final chapter, but it is completely fine to read them after finishing Season 2.

These chapters are important because they contain the first mention of Dr. Tearju Lunatique in the original manga, long before she eventually appears in To LOVE-Ru Darkness.

Once again, what exactly is a To LOVE-Ru OVA?

Just like the original series, To LOVE-Ru Darkness OVAs were DVD bundles included with Limited Edition releases of selected TLRD manga volumes (5, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, Chronicle).

13. To LOVE-Ru Darkness OVA 1 (Bundled with TLRD vol. 5)

Important: OVA 1 should be watched BEFORE Season 3.

Like Motto To LOVE-Ru, this season is a faithful adaptation of the manga.

These are the only older Darkness chapters that never received an anime adaptation. They take place when Mikan’s classmates, Sachi and Mami, still have not met Rito. At this point, they imagine him as a handsome, cool older brother figure. They eventually meet the real Rito in OVA 5.

19. To LOVE-Ru Darkness OVA 5 (Bundled with TLRD vol. 12)

21. Season 4: To LOVE-Ru Darkness 2nd, Eps. 1–14

Yes, there have always been 14 episodes in total. There is no “Special 1” or “Special 2” here. Episodes 13 and 14 were simply delayed and broadcast one month after Episode 12. They were never officially considered separate specials.

There is no such thing as a separate “To LOVE-Ru Darkness 2nd OVA” series. That is an incorrect fabricated title. To LOVE-Ru Darkness has only one OVA series, numbered OVA 1-9.

The release order is:

Darkness OVA 1 → before Season 3

Darkness OVAs 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 → after Season 3

Darkness OVAs 7, 8, 9 → after Season 4

Final OVA → after Season 5. Wait, how?

25. Manga: To LOVE-Ru Darkness, Ch. 48–77

This is where things get interesting. These are the chapters that were supposed to be adapted into Season 5, with hypothetical title: "To Love Ru Darkness 3rd". But we never got it until now.

Ch. 49 & 50: Already adapted into OVA 8

Ch. 54 & 55: Already adapted into OVA 9

26. Final OVA: “Multiplication Mae kara Ushiro kara”

Finally, we reach the final OVA. This OVA was bundled with the fourth databook, To LOVE-Ru Chronicle.

The story was originally released as two extra manga chapters after Ch. 77, and it later received an anime adaptation. What makes this unusual is that the OVA is technically meant to be watched after Season 5.

However, Season 5 never existed, so reading Ch. 48–77 is mandatory before watching this final OVA. Otherwise, you’ll be confused about why child-sized Lala has already returned to her normal form.

27. Manga One-shot: “Rito & Sayaka After School”

28. Manga One-shot: “Yabuki Kentaro 20th Anniversary”

These two chapters were created to commemorate Yabuki Kentaro’s 20th anniversary as a manga artist.

29. Manga One-shot: “Mikan & Maruru”

This is another commemorative chapter, created for the "To LOVE-Ru 15th Anniversary Finale" Art Exhibition.

The exhibition was originally planned for 2021, but it was postponed to 2023 because of COVID-19. The chapter was subsequently released in January 2023.

30. Manga One-shot: “To LOVE-Ru 20th Anniversary” (title TBA)

This is the upcoming anniversary chapter, scheduled for release on August 17, 2026. ONE WEEK AWAY.

Fun fact:

The To LOVE-Ru OVAs were originally released on DVD, so their native video resolution is only around 576p. Since the original OVAs are pretty difficult to obtain because they were bundled with Limited Edition manga volumes, they were later re-released as a complete Blu-ray box set.

The Blu-ray release contains all To LOVE-Ru Darkness OVAs 1–9 plus the Final OVA, across just two discs. And because they’re on Blu-ray, the episodes are finally available in glorious 1080p HD instead of the original DVD-era 576p quality.

Too bad, Nemesis gone through her "True Student Council" phase in only 2 chapters (75 & 76), it would be nice if she stays in her uniform in later chapters also. So i edited it...

WHAT IF

Instead of Standard Dark-skinned Nemesis when she's becoming True Student Council President, we got her alternate White-Skinned version from Chapter 59?

So, as we know that Sainan High School has 2 type of uniforms:

1. Winter Uniform with Blazer (Seen in Motto To Love Ru)
2. Summer Uniform with Vest (Seen in To Love Ru Darkness)

Since TLR Darkness takes place in Summer, We actually never seen Momo, Yami, etc in their Blazer, UNTIL there's a new chapter called "Rito & Sayaka After School" We finally can see Yami, Nana, and Mea in their Winter Uniform.

And apparently Mea's Blazer has unique designs that we never seen before, and since the Chapter is in black & white, we never actually know its true Colors.

Maybe it's black like Mea's battle suit? 🤷🏻‍♀️ But I made it with Crimson instead because it looked better...

From The Latest Chapter (not actually new, it was released since 2023), we saw that Mikan got her own Dress form based on Maruru (Peke's little sister). Since the manga has no color, we need to guess the color ourselves, matching with Maruru's Color Pattern. Here's my take...
