I get a lot of reports on these, it seems like some of us really don't like seeing them. I'm just looking to understand how widespread this sentiment is, though, because for all I know it could just be one or two people making these reports lol

**So what I'm referring to is live-action video submissions which feature a close-up shot (or multiple close-ups) of pussy and/or dick.** Fingering or teasing clips are the first thing to come to mind, we seem to get a lot of those. Really close blowjobs shots could also fall into this category. Really close PIV I guess is another example.

Personally I don't dislike them enough to ban them altogether... Some of them can be good. I don't wanna throw the baby out with the bath water. 😅 Generally, though, yeah they squick me out as well. What I might do as a compromise is just require submitters to indicate via the title when their video contains shots like these, and have the posts automatically spoilered when they do so. That way people who want to see them could open the post and see them, and those who don't could just keep scrolling. (Basically very similar to the Contentious Contents flair system I have set up)

What do you guys think? Do they bother you? How close is too close a shot for you? Does it matter if there are farther and more meaningful shots elsewhere in the clip? Do any other factors matter?

Note that I'm addressing the compositional aspect of media in this particual discussion. In other words, I'm not concerned about whether or not a sexual act or dynamic reads as maledom, I feel like that is a different attribute that can be assessed seperately.

Hello again, everyone! I have had a chance to take a closer look at the "too much generic porn" issue, and have been trying to come up with a means of regulating the quality of what gets submitted here in that category.

For those out of the loop: One major issue that both I myself and some of you guys have identified was that there are way too many video submissions here that don't really seem like maledom at all. As I said, I've spent some time browsing through the feed and the mod queue (i.e. where you'd see reports), and now I feel pretty confident that I know what y'all are referring to, and that we're pretty much on the same page...

Ok. So now comes the difficult part: Where do we draw the line? 😐

It began to dawn on me just how hard it is to decide what exactly "maledom" entails... Having thought about it, I've figured that the best way to determine what doesn't belong here is actually to just do the opposite first: Let's figure out what does.

So I'm asking you today: What have you seen on here in this category that you've really loved? What are your absolute FAVOURITE submissions? Drop a link! Let me see some examples!

Alternatively, if you can identify any specific, observable, visual features in these clips that signify to your brain that what you're viewing is a maledom dynamic, that would also be helpful.

I appreciate you guys' insight on this matter, because I feel like I'm a bit under-qualified to make this call; I personally am not too keen on live action porn to begin with, so my standards are probably way too high. 😅 I don't think that my tastes are anywhere near reflective of the average person here.

To those I've yet to meet: I'm Sirkee, she/her, nice to meet you. :) I've been around since 2019, mostly hanging out on r/gentlefemdom, r/RoleReversal, and just various hentai, kink, and female eyecandy subs. I started r/softmaledom during the pandemic to serve as a counterpart to r/gentlefemdom. At the time, there was just no gentle maledom sub in existence. I had some cute maledom-related art and thoughts I wanted to share, but none of the maledom communities that were out there seemed suitable... They were either WAY too extreme, had NO class at all (filled with dumb meathead gooners etc.), did not accept illustrated media, so on and so forth... You get the idea. Thus, r/softmaledom was born, and it seemed to fill the niche extremely well.

First things first--I apologize for disappearing; I've been dealing with a lot in my life and have had to take a break from here to focus on more urgent matters. I understand that this community has become a bit, uh... chaotic in my absence, and I'm sorry that you guys had to deal with that. You have my gratitude for keeping the place alive, and I sincerely hope that it has been enjoyable for you in spite of the inconveniences you've had to wade through.

And now, to get right to it! I've been going through the sub's feed and the mod queue over the past couple of days to get an idea of how things are looking presently, and what needs doing and how urgently. 3. Short post titles (ok for some types of posts...)

4. Female solo selfies (No longer will be allowed.)

5. Non-OC malegaze photos/videos (Will ONLY be allowed from prestiged members)

6. Text posts flaired with media flairs

7. Off-topic (non-maledom-related) horny comments..?

8. Low-res media

9. Tag all writing..?

10. Video porn that is not explicitly maledom... Gentle or otherwise. WAY too much of it.

11. Contentious Content flair not being used when it should.

12. Hell, post flairs just in general not being used properly lol

Over the next few weeks, I'll slowly be setting up automations to deal with the more obvious and easy issues, and to make moderation more streamlined going forward.
