F19 I had the worst experienced with my roommate
Me and my roommate had always flirted a little lingering eye contact, playful teasing, the kind of tension you pretend not to notice. One night after too many drinks and too much confidence, we crossed the line.
The problem was, absolutely nothing went the way either of us imagined. We were awkward from the start, bumping into furniture, knocking over a lamp, and trying way too hard to make things feel natural. At one point we both paused and just stared at each other because neither of us knew what we were doing anymore.
The chemistry we thought we had completely disappeared the second things became real. Instead of being hot and unforgettable, it turned into nervous laughter, silence, and a level of secondhand embarrassment I still cringe thinking about.
The next morning was even worse. We avoided eye contact in the kitchen, suddenly fascinated by our phones and cereal boxes. Eventually we laughed about it, but for weeks the apartment felt painfully awkward. Safe to say, we both agreed some fantasies are better left as fantasies.
