56 [M4F] The Internet completely conditioned my sexuality
Maybe just looking for an intellectual and entertaining chill conversation today. I know this is the common story for today’s youth, but I’m sure there are lots of Gen Xers like me who can identify with my story. I got into chat rooms in my 20s, when AOL was new. I preferred something called IRC. I discovered my Dad/daughter kink there in the 90s (some things I guess stick with you). In the 00s I started getting into BDSM after dating a masochist I met on PlentyOfFish, that sent me down a whole new rabbit hole that’s grown and evolved but rooted in the same needs that drew me to that lifestyle initially. Craigslist offered all the great Casual Encounters and personals that I’d use (both posting my own and answering) to meet some great FWB/play partners. I wasn’t ever big on one night stands because I enjoy the connection, even if there’s no commitment. That takes time. Plus I want to like you enough to keep hanging out, plus fucking. Anyway, I also used Fetlife around this time but never liked the format. After CL cratered to pressure from the puritans, I used Whisper for dirty chats. That place was ridiculous and mostly toxic. But sometimes toxic is enough for this fucked up man’s hormones. And now we have Reddit where there’s a subreddit for every single micro subgenre of kink you can imagine with 20,000 members and only half of those are bots. That’s still a lot of freaks, and I love all of you.
