Excessive drainage from tip with full stricture blockage at scrotal junction?

I woke up at 5am to pee and felt wetness in my boxers. Tons of yellow/clear thick drainage. On the way to work even more this time more yellow green. It’s been ALL DAY. Not just a little. Enough to soak paper towels through. I changed them out 5 times today. I reached out and haven’t heard back yet

Shit sucks, and I can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel right now.

Honestly rock bottom tonight. My urologist called about the results of my cysto. Somehow AFTER hair removal there’s hair in my urethera and I have a scrotal stricture. Looking at a two stage repair surgery with a buccal graft to redo the urethera where there’s hair, as well as repair the stricture. I’d have a temporary pee hole after stage 1 and then 3-4 months later would have the second stage.

I’m just so fucking beat down at this point. I don’t even see the point right now.

Beyond devastated and frustrated

Cysto showed a “Noted obliterated urethral lumen at the penoscrotal junction”…waiting for the urologist to call with next steps. I’m beyond fucking upset and stressed about this. Anyone have the same issue? How did they resolve it?

Cysto results

My surgeon tell me anything with me post op and will be calling me tomorrow (because he knew I’d be too out of it to remember) however a my chart note specifies “meatal stenosis stricture” and “other luminal urtheral findings”. So I’ll know more tomorrow when he calls but until then I’m stuck in my own head and have no clue wtf is happening.

I’d rather play in traffic than deal with this shit

Has anyone had issues mimicking a stricture that turned out to be caused by referred pain/nerve issues from bladder spasms?

I had an appointment today before my cystoscopy tomorrow (which I’ll be doing under anesthesia). And my urologist said he’s leaning towards my problem with voiding likely not being a stricture and rather being caused by bladder spasms and referred pain due to nerves. He thinks this mostly because I was able to void after initially getting my foley out, then I couldn’t, then my SP Cath came out after I could again, and now I can’t again. He said this is far from typical stricture behavior.

I’ve posted a few times about my struggles lately, and I haven’t been able to void without my SP Cath. When I try I can feel the urine moving and hard stopping somewhere in my scrotum where I get a stabbing pain that takes 10-30 mins to go away after I finally empty my sp Cath.

Only the cysto tomorrow will tell all, I’m just curious if anyone else has dealt with this pattern of being able to pee then not multiple times and if so what the underlying cause was.

Stage 2 complications, emotionally fucking draining

ving UTI symptoms again probably from this god damn catheter and this just feels like a never ending nightmare. I have a cystoscopy scheduled Wednesday where he said I’ll be put under anesthesia and he may be able to course correct during that. But the constant pain from bladder spasms, pain in the tract by my stricture, feeling of having to pee even when I don’t really, etc is just so mentally exhausting. I knew stage 2 would be hard, I knew the complication rate was >50%, but it’s one of those things you don’t realize how bad it is until you’re dealing with it. It’s summer and I haven’t been able to swim in the lake or the pool because of the SP Cath, we have a trip to Punta Cana coming up at the end of August where I’m proposing to my girlfriend and as of right now I definitely won’t be able to get in the pools or the ocean there, it just sucks. Absolutely nothing could have prepared me for this mess. I’m following up with my PCP today about the UTI symptoms, but I just started a new job and this time off I’ve needed due to the hospital and appointments is killing me. I know this is all to no one’s fault. Shit happens especially with this surgery, and I’m sure one day, ONE day it will have been worth it all, but I’m so struggling to see the light at the end of this tunnel right now. Shit makes me want to play in fucking traffic.

What to expect from cystoscopy with near certain stricture?

I have a cystoscopy scheduled the 29th. Definitely have a stricture going on, haven’t been able to piss at all since my last ED visit where they had to place a new SP Cath. Just super stressed and feeling like there’s no light at the end of this tunnel. I was told they may be able to resolve the issue during the cystoscopy but maybe not. I’m going to the surgical center for it and will be put under anesthesia. Still have the SP, no foley, and when I try to pee from my dick it’s just IMMENSE pain in my nutsack suspectedly at the junction where the old and new uretheras meet

Variation in stream size?

For those of you post stage two with UL, who have also had a stricture that’s been fixed, is it normal to sometimes have a more narrow stream and then go back to just normal pissing?

I had a UTI that led to sepsis and the day I went to the hospital I was able to void that morning st home then at work my stream narrowed and then I wasn’t able to void at all out of my penis they suspected due to swelling from the UTI. Prior to this I had no issues peeing at all and to be honest didn’t even really pay attention to my stream.

Before my void trial I had a retrograde uretherogram done that they *thought* may have shown a stricture but they weren’t positive esp since I never had issues peeing after the foley came out.

So now that I’m just 4 days out of the hospital from the UTI and sepsis I’m on mega watch for everything about how my pee comes out paranoid that if my stream is smaller than usual even one time something is about to go wrong.

Im just curious if this is a normal experience to have a slight variation in stream size, flow etc (though my flow has been about the same)

It’s been a whirlwind of a week: From sepsis to my SP cath removal finally

All I can say is holy shit, I’m glad this week is over.

My stage 2 recovery was really uncomplicated and smooth until I got a UTI July 2nd. I did 3 days of antibiotics, then the urine culture came back Sunday and surprise, the antibiotics were not effective against the specific bacteria I had. So Monday they sent in new antibiotics.

Monday morning I woke up, everything was normal. I got to work at 8:00, peed totally fine. Peed again at 8:45, my stream was a little narrow and quite slow. Went again at 9:30, we had dribbles. By 10:00 nothing. Thankfully I still had my SP cath so I could drain my bladder. I reached out to my team, they wanted me to try my new antibiotics for a few days. By 12:00, my kidneys were killing me, I had chills, I knew something wasn’t right. I pushed through my work day and went to urgent care at 4:00. Urgent care sent me straight to the ED, by 11:30 I was finally seen and they did a blood test: I was septic. Tons of antibiotics, they had to swap my SP cath out because even that stopped working. The next day I was admitted to a floor, SP Cath was infected around the insertion site. I was in the hospital until Thursday night. Got home Thursday, tried peeing, total success. So it was never a stricture like they suspected, but rather swelling from the UTI and infection blocking off my urethra.

Today I went for my follow up appointment and another void trial, all is well, SP cath came out, and I’m on my way back to normal.

It’s been a crazy fucking ride and I’m so glad it’s about over. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Now I’m home resting with my dick all tube free, ready to finally finish healing and hopefully losing the rest of these stubborn stitches in the coming days and weeks.

Stage 2 almost killed me, literally 🥲 but to no one’s fault, just really bad luck I suppose.

Seriously about to take this SP cath out on my own, I can’t take it anymore 😭 1 more week until it’s supposed to come out and it’s been more miserable by the day

I don’t know if it’s because nerves are waking up, or just irritation from being in there so long, or residual swelling, or what. But anytime the area of the SP gets touched or rubbed against by my clothes (which is literally all day at this point) I have the sensation I have to pee even when my bladder is totally empty (as confirmed by opening the valve on the SP after I void from my dick and nothing but drops coming out). It’s almost UTI symptoms with no UTI and directly correlated to the SP. the bladder spasm meds make me constipated even with a stool softener/laxative combo, so I only take them every so often because that’s been a miserable journey of its own. It’s supposed to come out next Friday the 10th and the thought of it causing these issues until then makes me so upset because I’m back to work and can’t get through a work day without the pain and feeling like I have to piss most of the day even though there’s nothing in there. I’ve been staying super hydrated.

Has anyone else experienced this? And if you did was there anything you found that brought relief?

Anyone else have absolutely no issues voiding after foley removal but the urethragram showed a small fistula and possibly stricture?

If so will it heal on its own? I do not want another catheter if I don’t absolutely need it. I’ve literally had no issues voiding at all. No pain no issue with amount or flow rate or anything.

Best supportive underwear post scrotoplasty when you don’t hang like a cis man?

I’m definitely finding I need to wear something more supportive, but the problem I’m having which I didn’t even think about when I bought a bunch of underwear is that my sack doesn’t have any hang to it like a cis scrotum. So the Sheath underwear I bought doesn’t work because the ball pouch is too deep, the krakatoa underwear is super comfy and gives me enough room to hang my dick without it getting bent up but doesn’t support my sack, there’s gotta be a brand out there that will work for us?

Void trial success! - dr Bruce and dr Warren (urology) Rochester NY

3 weeks post op stage 2, foley is out, successful void trial strong stream all 200mls of liquid that went in came out. I’m over the moon right now. I cannot thank my team enough.

If you had any doubts about seeing my team just because their inception is newer I’m here to tell you as the first stage 2 patient they had, they’re wildly skilled and I’ve had nothing but good vibes and success. I could cry I’m so happy right now. 30 years of waiting to piss standing up. And it didn’t burn or anything coming out. It’s like nothing ever happened

Void trial tips?

I have my urethrogram and void trial coming up on Friday this week. I’m super nervous about it because the last time I had a catheter like this was after kidney stone surgery and I remember even with my old anatomy trying to make myself pee after the catheter came out felt nearly impossible. If I recall they actually had me start flomax to help things along. I’m just nervous I won’t be able to pee at my void trial after the catheter comes out and I’m so beyond ready to move on from this stage. I can imagine if I struggle just sitting with my old anatomy to pee that using my new anatomy is going to be a challenge especially on demand in the office lol

Whoever warned me to be careful and avoid wound separation at the vnectomy site, I was so careful and I’m really bummed about this 😭

I know it’s a small small area, but my girlfriend was doing Vaseline on my suture lines and saw this last night. Hopefully it heals on its own and relatively quickly? It was seemingly healed over just two days ago. This recovery process can be so frustrating. You try to do everything right and it’s not always good enough.

Urethrogram next Friday to hopefully get this freaking foley out and start void trials.

Vnectomy already healed and scarred over 12 days post op stage 2 (meant to add this pic to last nights post) Dr. Bruce Rochester NY

Absolutely insane to me that in 11 days the incision I was most worried about pre op is already closed and healed up. I swear it’s the Juven, the Protein Shakes, and my surgical team’s mad skills 😂

Stage 2 update pic dr Bruce Rochester ny

Super happy with everything so far. Dr Bruce used the gracilis muscle from my leg to cover the uretheral connection which will significantly reduce the chance of a fistula, he also said because the muscle is so large I likely won’t actually need testicular implants (my current scrotum is just basically the gracilis inside protecting the uretheral connection) and it’s plenty large for me. I have one small incision near my knee where it pulled the gracilis from after excising it from the larger incision up top that was on my split thickness scar from stage one. And just have this baby split thickness he took for the glansplasty.

I have a uretherogram June 26th and if that goes well the foley will come out to start void trials then!

Another positive perk unlocked of being a patient with Dr. Bruce- Rochester Ny

This might not seem like too big of a deal, but I received an email this morning that an order is coming to me from Byram Health. Dr. Bruce’s team is now having any and all supplies you need for recovery shipped directly to patient’s homes post op. I’m a week and a few days out of stage 2 vnectomy, scroto, glans, and UL hookup and this was a nice surprise, it’ll definitely be helpful in saving me trips to and from the office for supplies.
