Did a proper side by side this week, because the answer changes every couple months and the old threads are stale. Same character, same scenario, same slow burn setup fed to all three. Honest breakdown.

ChatGPT
Still the best pure writer. Tension, dialogue, character psychology, the emotional logic of a scene, nothing touches it. And then it won’t actually go there. Incredible director that refuses to shoot the scene.

Grok
The most willing by a mile and genuinely fun. Quality is good but not ChatGPT good, and on longer chats it starts repeating phrasing and flattening characters. Great for a quick spicy scene, rougher for a long story.

Claude
Surprisingly strong on emotional nuance and long form, and some people report it loosens up after age verification. But it’s moody about it and can get preachy. When it’s on though, the prose is gorgeous.

Takeaway: if you want the writing, ChatGPT, and you’ll fight it. If you want the freedom, Grok. If you want feelings and long form and you’re patient,Claude.

Genuine question, because I’ve lost the thread at this point.
We got the original treat adults like adults talk, then age verification rolled out for some people, then it got delayed, then delayed again with no date. Meanwhile the models keep getting more locked, not less.
So which is it:
They’re quietly building it
and the lockdowns are just legal cover until launch.
Or it’s permanently dead
and the adult mode talk was always PR that was never going to survive the payment processors and app stores.
I keep flip flopping. Part of me thinks if it was really coming they wouldn’t be tightening everything this hard. Part of me thinks that’s exactly what you’d do right before a verified gate.
