Hi friends!
Curious - anyone here that has had bariatric surgery? If so, I'd love to know what dosing looks like for you! How often, how many mg, etc. Bonus points if you were using 7oh prior to surgery and after!
I had RNY gastric bypass in 2022. I've lost around 170ish pounds. Prior to surgery, I was using about 30-40gpd of plain leaf. After surgery, I had a lot of digestive issues with plain leaf and some crazy nausea. I powered through and then I got pregnant about 9 months post op in 2023, so I quit cold turkey. After my daughter was born, I started taking plain leaf again, but then I discovered 7oh and my life changed - lol.
Since my surgery, things metabolize differently for me. For example, one beer will have me super buzzed. Two has me incredibly intoxicated. Twenty minutes later, I'm completely sober. Kinda takes the fun out of drinking for me, but I do still love a good glass of wine once in a blue moon.
Same with my 7 doses. I know tolerance raises quickly, there's a dosage ceiling, etc; however, even when I was taking crazy low doses in the beginning, I was lucky to get 20 minutes out of a dose before it "wore off." Even now, a 30-70mg dose has me feeling alright for about a half hour, and then I'm feeling like I need to dose again. That's what blew my tolerance through the roof. I take 7 for chronic pain (I have lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, along with several other autoimmune diseases). I had a hysterectomy on December 1st and I relied on my 7 for post-op pain relief and I completely destroyed my tolerance. I was able to taper back down, but a few bad flare-ups recently have me right back in the 300-400mg per day range.
I'd love to know if anyone else is in the same boat. I know we all process things differently, but bariatric surgery throws a whole wrench into the equation. Thanks friends! :)
