Our review of Hedo

Our review of Hedo

We are not really in the lifestyle but really enjoy a vacation focused on sex, sexy environments and our sex drive has been on overdrive the past year. We have been to Secrets a handful of times but have yet to really spend time outside of our room, it’s probably a mix of nerves and we also really enjoy the room amenities like the sex swings, mirrors, etc. We have talked a lot about having sex in public, on a beach, so we decided to check out Hedo.

Between work and personal travel, we only had limited time so we booked 3 nights at the end of July/beginning of August. It was also our first time in Jamaica and even though we did all of the research we could, YouTube, reddit, etc. nothing really prepares you for what to expect. We booked a Premium room on the clothing optional side but before they were going to take us to our room, we noticed our room was on the nude side. We confirmed with the front desk and they said we got a complimentary upgrade. We were not mentally prepared to be on the nude side but they said this was the only Premium room they had left so off we went, head first into the deep end of the pool.

Check-in process
We took everyone’s suggestion and booked a room at a nearby resort so we could get to Hedo first thing in the morning. Of course our room was not ready but there wasn’t much direction or information that was given to us after we checked in. We were just given a map and they told us breakfast is ending soon and off we went. It wasn’t until later in the day that we noticed that there was a QR code on the envelope that linked to the schedule of events and that they have tours of the resort twice a day.

We knew they had necklaces but no one offered up this information until we asked the front desk. We were then directed to the Club Hedo desk and we got our necklaces, a hat, a visor and a drawstring bag. So definitely ask about that when you check in.

The Room
Is the Premium Room worth it? We have nothing else to compare it to, but the balcony on the nude side was nice and we were just steps away from the nude pool. Having the drinks filled in your fridge everyday and the breakfast room service was convenient since we were just about at the furthest point from the restaurants. I noticed the soda/ice machine at the nude pool was hit or miss, one night it was out of ice and bees swarmed the fountains . The room was very clean and modern, but we always had a ton of bugs in the room, tiny ones on the dresser and flying ones probably because we were using the balcony a lot. We used citronella soap and sunscreen with insect repellent but we still got bit.

Once we were settled in, we took our clothes off and went out to explore the resort. One thing we noticed, and I’m not sure if this is how it really works, was that not everyone was nude walking around the nude side of the resort. The majority were nude but if you are going to the restaurants or main lobby area, there were a decent amount of people that were covered up, even past the sign that says you must take off your clothes past this point. We also randomly observed some people that wore swimsuits at the nude pool, some were just passing through but we did see at least one guy with shorts walking back and forth around the pool with no one stopping him. Not sure is the norm but it felt like being on the nude side, you really didn’t always need to be nude. But as other people have said, once you take the clothes off, they really don’t come back on. It felt totally normal standing around and talking to random people who are also completely naked. As you engage in conversation, you don’t even think about it anymore.

The Pools
Since our room was not ready, we hung out for a bit at the clothing optional pool and watched them do trivia. That was actually the last time we were on the prude side. Since this was Friday, there was a group there and the nude pool was packed, shoulder to shoulder near the pool bar. We are not the most outgoing people but the pool looked like people soup and it really wasn’t our vibe. On Saturday and Sunday, it was much less crowded and we spent a bit of time at the nude pool but we actually spent most of our time at the beach and in the water on those blue floating mats.

Trying out different places where you can have sex

We really enjoyed the freedom at Hedo and checked off just about every place where you can have naughty fun.

The Happening Hut - we did this on our last morning so it was empty and not too hot yet.

The Jungle - shout out to the couple that recommended it to us, we would have never have guessed they had beds back there. We went back here just about everyday but the weather/heat made it just a little uncomfortable.

The Beach - this was one of our favorite spots, especially in those canopy beds. The only issue here were the guys walking up and down the beach trying to sell you “stuff”. A polite no thanks worked but only if we were deeply engaged with each other was when they did not bother us.

The Playroom - Another nice place that has AC outside of your room and the plunge pools are great for cooling off. I just wish they opened a bit earlier.

The Grotto - Just a quick blowjob here, didn’t find this space that exciting.

The Food
We had fun at Harrysan’s, our chef gave us X-rated hibachi show and the whole table was having a good time. The hibachi food was good but the sushi rice was a bit mushy.

The steak and lobster at Pastafari was probably the best food we had.

The buffet was pretty average and the sushi during the Friday gala also had mushy sushi rice. Maybe an off-night/week for the sushi but it was just not good. The chef needs to use less water when cooking the rice.

We had jerk chicken and jerk chicken pizza at the nude bar, these were also just ok for me.

Off-property, we had amazing jerk chicken, ox tail and curried goat. Best in the West lived up to their name.

Transportation
We went with Concierge Lorna, booking was easy and she followed up via email and calling prior to the pickup date. Shout out to our driver Dez, he picked up random fruit like mango and guinep for us while driving to Negril.

Club Mobay
Not really needed when we arrived, it was about 1pm and there was no line at customs. The arrivals “lounge” was tiny and we just wanted to get going to Negril. We used the departure lounge because our flight was delayed and we used our Priority Pass benefit to get in. Huge lounge with lots of food options, I would consider doing this again.

Overall
We were excited to go but a bit apprehensive when we arrived in Jamaica. We are Asian and I think we say a total of less than 10 Asian people the entire time we were in Jamaica, and that included a family of 5 at Rick’s cafe. But everyone we interacted with was great, staff and guests and we will look at returning sometime in the future. We live on the West Coast so getting to MBJ is a trek with no direct flights but in the end, it was all worth it.

One of the side benefits of no phones on the nude side meant that we left our phones in our room and we were really able to disconnect and focus on our time together with no distractions.
