Years in the making!
It’s happening! I needed a place to celebrate!
It’s been a crazy year now, our baby came way early and had to have formula or modified breastmilk. But at this point, since it’s become so much easier to just do formula to prep my wife and I agreed to do ANR before bed every night. I was not prepared for the taste, holy cow, and I say cow in the best way possible. Sweet and rich like creamy nectar. ANR really does speak all 5 love languages at the same time.
It’s been so long since we looked into this I’m struggling to remember everything. She never got to producing much. And now she has stopped the morning pump (which made her really engorged the first night, which made it even hotter to me). So it seems her supply is very minimal. I’m making sure to empty them both and then some without sucking to hard to collapse the ducts, but they still both empty in just a few minutes each. I know I need to be thorough to keep up demand but I’m starting to wonder if she would need to pump during the day at least once.
I don’t want it to dry up but also don’t want to add a burden to her with a 5mo old. I was half joking when I told her I would use her morning milk in my coffee, oatmeal, etc but I know she is also ready to stop pumping, even with her wearable. She is a stay at home mom now too for context. Guidance appreciated but patience will suffice.
