Is it weird for me to actually enjoy pumping?

19 yr old f and honestly...it feels so good to me.

I feel good because my body is showing 🎊changes🎊

And most of my breastfeeding friends hate pumping, even hands-free (like im doing rn.) I cant place the feeling but it feels so good. And Seeing my large sore nipples just does something to me if that makes sense?

About how long until i can expect my first drops?

I started my lactation journey last night after finding out that I could do it! Im 19f and the pump is use is a medela, which i feel is doing something, but im worried that i only feel this way because it's something I want. Im not taking any hormones (I really dont wanna explain this to my doctor) and so other than pumping, im using hand stimulation and a warm towel.

If there's any advice/tips

Please let me hear them!

Tits and Tablets: Pill Box Weekly Accountability Thread

Happy Sunday, milkmakers and flowchasers!

It’s time for your weekly pillbox prep check-in! Whether you're popping dom, herbs, pre-natals, or just something you enjoy taking, this post aims to support you in keeping your body in flow-friendly balance. Starting today, this thread will now serve as your reminder to refill your stash, share your wins, and recommit to your routine.

Drop a comment to let us know you’re stocked and ready; or let us know if you need a little nudge. We’re in this together!!

When replying, feel free to tell us all about any of the following topics (reply to any or all; lurkers are loved too <3 You matter whether you comment or not):

- did you fill your pill box for the week?

- wanna tell us about what you're taking? spill the deets! Are you taking tablets, capsules, tinctures, or something else? Tell us all about it if you want!

- how has your consistency with pill taking been this week?

- are you making any tweaks in your supplement or med routine?

- did you notice any changes in supply, mood, or energy?

- what's one thing you're proud of this week, no matter how big or small?

Even if you don't get it done, please remember: your routine is valid, even if it's imperfect. This journey is a marathon, not a sprint, and even if you don't get around to it this week, there's always mid-week or next week. Either way, let's support each other towards reaching our goals!

Some housekeeping notes:

- DO NOT TAKE MEDICAL ADVICE FROM STRANGERS ON THE INTERNET. ALWAYS CONSULT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL FOR YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY.

- Do not talk about any supplements as if they have absolutely positively guaranteed benefits. Just talk about what you think works for you and share your experiences with others. There is no herbal supplement with any hard evidence that they work to do anything for lactation or especially for those of us who are inducing. Any misinformation in the comments will be removed and you will receive a warning.

- You're welcome to post links to share the products you're taking; if you don't see your comment show up right away, it might have been grabbed by the automoderator. Please be patient and I will approve it as soon as I see it in the net.

- Do not peddle pills in this post. I don't mind passionately sharing with the class, but if you're doing so to profit and not because of your love of the product and your community, your comment will be removed and you will likely receive at least a warning.

Breast Size Growth?

Is breast growth (or lack of) common? I started at a 32D/DD (so not very big) and I haven’t grown much after 6-7 months.

Is cup growth possible/standard without pregnancy(I’ve never been pregnant) or weight gain(I’m relatively thin and have always been)?

A little disappointing so far but I’m going to keep trying obviously I’m not doing it just for the cup size growth.

Duct fluid after only two days?? Or is it cause for concern?

I am 100% new to this journey. And I’m so excited! I just started pumping with my Elvie stride yesterday. I did two sessions of 30 minutes just to start… one in the morning and one at night. I noticed lymph fluid (?) or sweat around the nipple after pumping both times yesterday…not exactly sure what it is… assumed it was sweat, though I wasn’t hot or warm at all…

Now, today, I did my third official session of pumping this morning and after wiping the nipple and the shallow interior of the pump, the liquid came up pale yellow. Is that duct fluid already? Just want to make sure it’s not cause for concern/that it’s normal.

I never expected to love adult breastfeeding this much at my age

Hi everyone, I’m a 42-year-old woman and I wanted to share how adult breastfeeding has become such a special part of my life. A couple of years ago my partner and I started exploring ANR out of curiosity. I thought it would be a bit weird at first, but it turned out to be incredibly bonding.

The feeling when he latches on is so soothing and intimate. I love the way he relaxes completely against me, the gentle sucking, and how it makes me feel nurturing and desired at the same time. Sometimes we do long sessions where I just hold him while he nurses on one side and then the other. It’s become our way to reconnect after stressful days.

Even though I’m not lactating (yet), the emotional side of it is so powerful. I feel closer to him than ever. Any other women in their 40s who discovered ABF later in life? How has it affected your relationship?

Still not getting the latch right?

Me and my bf have done casual ABF for about two years now. He’s only dry suckling as we’ve realised neither one of us have the time or energy inducing would take, but we’re both excited for the day I get pregnant and can lactate naturally.

However, we’re still not getting the latch right. I don’t know what we’re doing wrong, maybe my boobs are too big? But I always get this almost like a burning sensation in my nipples whenever he suckles and then they’re sore for I kid you not DAYS. (Obviously he doesn’t suckle when I hurt). For the AFABs, you ever get that kind of like cold pain in your vulva when on your period? It’s that feeling, except my nipples.

We’ve tried going deeper, slower, less suction, you name it we’ve tried it. I’m finding myself less excited about our sessions because of the pain, and my nipples have definitely lost some sensitivity over these two years. Oddly enough I didn’t feel this was such a big provlem in the beginning? But then again nowadays he basically has to suckle to fall asleep and we did it a lot less in the beginning of our relationship so maybe that’s why.

Anyone else that’s had this happen? Or knows what we’re doing wrong? I’m gonna start believing I’m just allergic to his saliva soon…

breastmilk taste

My wife has weaned our 2 year old baby last month and I have been sucking her boobs daily for like 20-30 mins a day during our bed time, milk was sweet. This continued for 3 weeks and I had to go on a work trip for a week and came back yesterday.
When I sucked her boobs last night, the milk came very thick and white but the taste is no longer sweet, it tasted some what bland and salty.

is this common after a week break? what do we do to turn it sweeter?

Questions about pumping and getting the first drops

So ive been on dom since start of June my doctor had me on 2x10mg per day, and I've only recently moved up to 3x10mg dom per day (Australian have to get it prescribed) taking them around breakfast lunch and dinner, im worried I might be too low of a dosage.

Im doing my best to stimulate and use my wearable pump to help stimulate my breasts to actually create the milk. My issue is that my schedule makes it really difficult to spend more time stimulating my breasts. I'll do a massage and pumping in the morning for ~20 minutes while doing breakfast and try to get a massage in during lunch and then pump at night after dinner. My schedule is absolutely packed throughout that day. Im wondering if I can do anything else? Hopefully without needing to spend too much more money.

I recently purchased my second pump due the first one not coming with flanges to make it comfortable and the manufacturer not sending any due to not having my size.

I've read about the Tens unit and im mostly uncomfortable about spending money and using it.

Any suggestions would be nice. Thank you for helping

Is switching to protocol worth it?

Hi everyone, I'm back again for more questions as you were all really helpful last time! For context, I began trying to induce back in February with just pumping. I then started Domperidone in May with a low dose and gradually increased it. I've now been on 90mg a day for a week.

I've also been taking progesterone as part of my hrt (as I'm a trans woman) and my understanding is that progesterone helps develop the breasts, but hinders milk production, which is why the protocol recommends taking, and then stopping birth control to mimick hormonal changes from pregnancy.

My question is this: Should I start to follow the protocol and stay on both prog+dom for a month or two? Or should I just stop the prog now and let the dom and pumping do the work? I've not had any milk or drops of any kind yet, and I'm starting to feel frustrated 🙃 any advice would be appreciated <3

Is This Normal?

I've been trying to induce lactation recently through hand-stimulation and self suckling. I only started yesterday, so it's been a little over 24 hours of trying to induce. I've noticed that my breasts feel a little heavier, though that may just be due to the bras I wear, and my nipples are a little painful. There's been some small soreness that comes and goes. Is this normal or am I possibly doing something wrong that's causing the soreness?

Edit: To those who have or will reply to this post, you have my eternal gratitude. However, as I have recently found that inducing lactation is likely not possible without using a pump, I will most likely be inactive on this sub. Thank you again for your kindness, and maybe see y'all again someday soon. :)

I’m officially making milk and I’m so excited [F28]

I’ve been pumping consistently and last night I finally got proper white milk instead of just clear fluid. It’s still not a lot (about a teaspoon from each side so far) but it’s real milk and I’m so proud of myself.

I even started using my wearable pump in public sometimes because why not? No one can really tell. I’m planning to keep going and see how much supply I can build. Has anyone else started making milk recently? I’d love to hear your progress or tips.

No Stupid Questions Monthly Megathread

Welcome to the No Stupid Questions Monthly Megathread! All posts asking basic, low effort, vague, or not very detailed questions will be removed and users will be asked to instead post their questions to this thread. This only applies to basic specific questions that are asked; we will still remove posts that ask vaguely for general advice(omg gimme tips and tricks! etc). Everyone is encouraged to take the time to read the sub resources and search past posts before posting. This Megathread will help to gently redirect folks to bring the questions we see asked time and time again into one place, instead of drowning the main feed of the subreddit. For all of our new folks and lurkers, please take advantage of this space to ask your questions about ABF and about inducing lactation!

I’m addicted to the letdown reflex 😩 but hormonal hair loss has kicked in

So this happens often when I suddenly get the urge to relactate, I start down the road and use my tens and my Rivolo nipple corrector suction machine. Always about 2 weeks in my hair loss really picks up and I chicken out and stop the process for fear of losing too much hair as I’ve already thinned a lot, but this time around, I get a strong let down about 5 minutes into using my Rivolo nipple corrector and I’ll usually get it 2 more times before the machine automatically turns off. The feeling is simply divine!!!!!! And I’m having a hard time just stopping especially since my breasts have hit that gloriously sensitive and starting to swell stage. Has anyone else struggled with hair loss from the hormonal shift? I didn’t have that issue when I was younger and breastfeeding my kids. Has anyone found a fix or does it stabilize? My husband and I are really enjoying this stage and I really don’t want it to end but I don’t want to be a wig wearer either 🥴

42F using adult breastfeeding as stress relief after long work days — it’s become my favorite way to unwind

Post body:
Hey friends, working professional sharing something that’s genuinely helping my mental health. My job is high-stress and by the time I get home I’m usually drained. A few months ago my partner and I tried adult nursing as a way to reconnect.

Now most evenings I’ll lie back, pull him to my breast, and just let him nurse while I stroke his hair. The oxytocin rush is real — I feel calm, loved, and turned on all at once. Sometimes it leads to more, sometimes it’s just peaceful bonding. My breasts feel fuller and more sensitive now, which is a nice bonus at my age.

Working moms or stressed-out women in ANR — how do you fit nursing into busy lives? Does it help with anxiety for you too? I’d love to hear how others make it part of their daily routine.
