I wouldn't say that gay bar scene is dead in NYC but definitely most gays go to monthly gay techno parties (i.e Wrecked) these days imo. Just shirtlessness and untz untz untz and music without lyrics.

Is it the same in Chicago? I am thinking of visiting sometime this summer.
I would definitely like to go to a gay techno party (would appreciate any recs!) in Chicago, but if Chicago still prefers gay bars, I ultimately want to go where the people are at.
