I don't recall ever seeing any posts on CanadaLeft about sex workers rights and I think that's an overlooked Labour issue. Sex Work is Real work. Sex workers deserve a safe work environment and decriminalization. Sex Workers deserve equal rights and protections under labour laws.

I was shocked to hear that Montreal strippers are treated like independent contractors and worse than uber drivers or doordash. All of the costs are placed on them and they even have to pay the stripclubs a fee to even dance there even though the strippers are the main attraction.

I think it's way past time progressives and leftist support Sex Workers in our shared goals of labour rights.
