had a situation with my pharmacy and I’m so disgusted that I want this to be heard !

Live in New York City—Staten Island to be precise. The pharmacy I go to, I’ve been going to for three years. For the past two weeks, I’ve been talking to a new dermatologist. I gave him the information to my pharmacy, and he made a mistake and sent my prescriptions somewhere else.
Then my pharmacy calls and says, “Prescription ready, pick up for ***.” I stop him to ask which ones they are because the doctor wants to make sure he sent them all.
The man on the phone replies, “NOT controlled substances, if that’s what you’re thinking,” and threw me on hold. Honestly, thank god for the 10 seconds on hold because it helped me think more clearly instead of reacting with my emotions.
The actual pharmacist picks up the phone.
📞 “Hey, can I speak to the pharmacist or manager?”
The pharmacist picked up: “Hi, hello, this is the pharmacist.”
I say: “Hello. Whoever called my phone and was the first person to initially speak to me said something extremely inappropriate and out of line. I don’t appreciate it. I’ve been a customer of your pharmacy for over three years, and I’ve never been spoken to or disrespected the way I did today.”
The pharmacist: “He didn’t mean it like that; he meant to say that we were out of all controlled substances.”
I go: “Okay, so he calls all of the clients and says exactly what he said to me?” He stays quiet.
I say: “I think it’s extremely disrespectful and inappropriate that he said what he said to me, and that also makes me uncomfortable to know that he has access to my file, because that’s the only way and the reason he said what he said. People are medically shamed every day, and the fact that you’re protecting this individual makes it worse.”
I hung up, and I cried. I’m so angry, I feel looked down on! And my borough has a little newspaper, and I want to reach out to them because I don’t think people should be looked down on because of what they are medically prescribed. That does not make someone better than the next. The fact that I was asking about TOPICAL cream and not pills makes no sense for him to make the comment yea I get controlled substances, but that’s the middle of the month not now. wtf is his problem

I had a weird interaction with a another psychiatrist (my primary is on Vacation and I never see anyone but him which has been 5 years long)

So I had to take an appointment with another physician unfortunately. So I opened the virtual call and it she goes let me read on your file. She starts to go into a rant about how she read my file and thinks that I would benefit from hospitalization and I basically told her I’m not seeing you because it’s a choice. I’m seeing you because my doctor that I have a long-term treatment plan with is currently on vacation. I told her thank you for your suggestions, but I like the current treatment plan. I’m in and it is working for me. Again, she didn’t take anything I said into consideration and continue to give me advice I didn’t ask for. She kept saying things like you’ve been through too much trauma for one person and you should definitely go and meet yourself into the ER. And I’m just not saying anything. Because I wasn’t there to talk to her. I just needed her to put my medication into the pharmacy. But it got me so upset and I wanted to write the office and let them know of my interaction. And let them know that I don’t want her to put anything on my file, but I just seeing me for five minutes she doesn’t know me and doesn’t know really anything about my mental health. The only one that does is my primary physician. I did not say anything that would make her say that I need to move to a hospital, which I don’t even know what the fuck if that makes any sense but now I have anxiety and I’m very highly upset. She also kept saying “oh I see your on Xanax you should get off of it you want to start taper today? “ I’m like again like I said me and my doctor have a treatment plan that works best for me. Thanks anyways. It was a horrible experience.
