I know dxm permatolerance is not necessarily permanent, but you must admit that it takes an abnormally long time for noticeable changes to tolerance (up to a decade)
and since tolerance goes hand in hand with withdrawal symptoms(brain fog, inability to hold memories efficiently, slurring and forgetting words, irritability and anhedonia/depression etc.....), wouldn't that mean that my brain is also "permanently" fried?
I know about neuroplasticity but that also isn't really something that'll fix the majority of problems, the damage is already done, quitting didn't help much, not from my experience, and not from most people's experiences with heavy abuse and side effects, everyone reports at least some cognition loss that still persists years after quitting.
it's really sad honestly.
I used to do dxm in disgusting syrup form all the time, I would sometimes drink half a liter of that shit, but I've mostly been able to topple the most intense urges to vomit before, here's how:
first of all, never do dxm if you have eaten a reasonably sized meal in in less than 3 hours if you want the best results, do not eat with dxm or before the peak of dxm
doing dxm on a completely empty stomach may also trigger nausea, so eat something small and plain like white bread with dxm.
now for the techniques:
1 - lay down with your head and shoulder elevated slightly, do not roll, and do not put your hands on your stomach or put any pressure on it
2 - keep a bottle of cool water on your side, every now and then, start sipping slowly with very small amounts and keep it up for 10 seconds or so, rinse and repeat, this is one of the best quick remedies for nausea, do not drink in gulps tho
3 - breath deeply and slowly through your nose, try to focus on your breath, calm down and forget about everything else, the more you distract yourself, the weaker nausea becomes, because it's mostly cause by anxiety
4 - put on headphones, turn off the lights, and listen to the calmest music you can think of, for me, nothing works as amazingly well as Stone in Focus by Aphex twin, you have no idea how many times I narrowly avoided a disaster by just listening to this beautiful track and watching the calm macaque monkey enjoying a moment of peace and introspection.
if you have any more tips, let us know.
I abused dxm for 3 years, and I reached a point where 1.2 grams just feels like being drunk but only the motor loss, and a very faint euphoria
I quit for 6 months, and I wanted to check if anything changed, but nope, it's as underwhelming of an experience as 6 months ago
did you ever get it back? what was it at the peak of tolerance for you and how did it feel doing it again after (supposedly) getting the magic and effects back?
they hit around 3-7 days of quitting after abuse, and they are very different from normal nightmares in the way that they are very grotesque and extremely uncomfortable
they differ slightly each time, but they always feature:
- heavy body load and dysphoria, sensation of being very ill or dying
-brain zaps, and sometimes a serotonin like euphoria but it feels less enjoyable and more like my brain is frying, like I'm experiencing bipolar mania or serotonin syndrome.
- fading in and out of consciousness in the dream itself, getting blind or losing sensation of your dream body, getting paralyzed in one side or more etc....
- grotesque imagery (one time I saw myself eating a human body raw, it was extremely disgusting but I was compelled, another time I was getting punched and stabbed by unseen entities and it was really painful like you would imagine)
- they last an abnormally long time
and often I know I'm dreaming but can't escape it, so I'm forced to suffer in whatever hell my mind decided to create for what feels like hours
