Had the weirdest 1st Grindr encounter....
After a long while of browsing Grindr and never finding anyone who I was comfortable meeting up with I finally came across an older man in his mid 40s who seemed really nice and straight forward. He had a daddy kink and wanted someone younger. We ended up messaging for almost the entire day, exchanging a few pictures (we never exchanged face pictures although I did send one with a black box over my eyes despite not receiving any from him, and he invited me over later that evening. I was a bit hesitant at first, but I guess pre-nut clarity clouded by better judgement....he lived an hour away and despite the distance I agreed to it.
I made sure I shaved my body, and dressed up to meet said older man. Prior to leaving my house he messaged me the address of an adult store wanted to buy me panties and a toy to wear/enjoy for the evening. I politely told him it was okay several times but he insisted meeting at a public location before going to his house. I didn't want to meet at an adult store so I asked if there was another place we could meet - and if everything went well then we could go to the adult store afterward if he still wanted.
He sent me an address to a gas station, and so I departed from my house and arrived an hour later. When I arrived I sent him a message on Grindr and he kept giving me instructions like "walk in from the back door, stand outside in the back", but he wouldn't show himself. After about 5+ minutes of feeling creeped out because he was clearly watching me from whatever vehicle nearby, he sent a message asking "how old was I?" at which time I responded with my correct age that's on my Grindr profile. Feeling like it was pointless I politely messaged him "It's okay if you're not feeling it, I guess I will leave now because being watched is a bit creepy."
He responded telling me he was in the big truck parked in the very back corner of the parking lot and wanted me to come up to his truck. I responded to his message saying "I'd rather not walk up to his truck and make him uncomfortable and would rather meet inside or by the door, and we could grab a coffee and chat."
He responded "He will meet me by the outside tables" and so I waited, as he drove around the parking lot to park right in front of the side tables. When he got out of his truck he was a bit shorter than me, but I guess he was your typical average bald headed man. As we talked for about 10 minutes, he was very quiet and asked me a few questions which I tried to reply as best as I can given we were in a public location....and it was a bit awkward. He made the remark that I seemed really nervous and I told him "Yeah I was, because I never met anyone from this app before and re-answering his intimate questions in public" (which he already knew). He mentioned "I didn't look like my pictures" but I only sent him a few pictures, and while he was there in front of me I sent him the picture of my face without the black bar covering my eyes. I'm not sure what exactly was his expectations were but I don't think I catfished the guy 🤣
Afterwards, he said "alright let's go to the adult store" and so I responded I'll follow behind him in my car. He had sent me the address to the adult store so I had it in my GPS. He left the parking lot in a hurry and I thought that was a bit strange for a person to do knowing someone was going to follow behind them.
As I was driving to the adult store which was 15 min away, I decided to check Grindr and sure enough he unmatched/blocked me 🤣 I'll be honest, I wasn't surprised. He was being really weird and I'm not sure what he expected but I did give him the opportunity several times to let me know if he wasn't interested/feeling it and I'd be totally fine with that. He didn't have to speed out of the parking lot and ghost me lol. Such a weird way to be ghosted...I figured not showing up would have been more normal lol.
Either way, I still decided to visit the adult store since I drove all the way out there. I decided to buy myself a couple toys and then drove back the hour home. So that was my 1st and probably last time I will ever try Grindr haha 😅
Was that normal behavior? I'm sure others must have had weird encounters before.
