Is there a reason weed is more expensive here?
I usually buy in New Mexico recreationally. I’m in Virginia now in the DMV, and I went to liberty cannabis (closest dispensary to me in MD) because I don’t have my medical card for Virginia. For reference, in NM earlier this month I got a pack of 20 1g prerolls for $30 which I thought was a pretty good deal. At liberty cannabis I paid $20 for a 5 pack of .5g prerolls. Mind you they’re Strane & I’ve heard that’s a more premium brand, but when I asked for prerolls deals & they said that they kinda sounded excited like it was a good deal?
Anyway I’m just wondering if I’m going to the wrong dispensary, or if weed is just more expensive here? I’m wondering g if maybe there are more regulations on weed here? Would it be worth it to get my med card for Virginia to save money or is it just as expensive? In New Mexico I’m spending less than $100 a month but you can get on ounce over there for $35, so I didn’t think it would be worth it but now seeing the prices I’m debating.
