Here is my experience with both:
The Bong: Cools the vapor and saves the throat but the glass piece develops a nasty stagnant smell even though I change the water after every single hit. Anyone else get this?
The Pipe: No gross smell but the direct hot hit easily burns/irritates my gums and dries my mouth instantly
Two quick questions for you guys…
1/How do you get rid of that nasty bong smell if changing the water doesn't work?
2/Do you feel a difference in the high between the pipe and the bong? Which one hits harder?

If the target temperatures for producing the vapor are too high can that heat alone cause sores on your tongue? Or is it the smoke caused by actual combustion (burning) that does the damage?
Or could it be that none of these heat factors matter at all and the issue is strictly related to dry mouth and teeth grinding?

I just took two different hits from the exact same batch but the results were night and day. On the first hit it froze looking messy, feathery and has those wavy lines people call “the wobbles” So… I tried a second burn this time just changing how I heated the pipe and cooled it down on a wet towel. Same gear, but this time it froze into perfect straight fractal lines with a clean spiderweb look.

So I’m questioning: is this pattern really about purity or is it just about heat control and cooling speed? Does the fact that I can make the same gear look completely different just by technique mean this whole visual test is a lie?

What do u guys think? Is the visual crackback reliable at all?

Hey everyone, I am noticing that my bong water is starting to smell horrible. The smell is almost like mold or some kind of nasty stagnant swamp water.
I don't think it should be smelling this bad this fast. Does anyone know what exactly causes this specific swampy/moldy smell and what is the best way to get rid of it and prevent it from coming back?

Yo tweakers I see a lot of people complaining about their product turning dark brown or black too fast. To keep it short, if you are scorching your bowl it is usually because of these two reasons:

You are overloading the pipe. You are putting way too much gear in at once. If you are smoking solo, just pack a small puddle that you can clear in a few clean hits.

You are overheating. You keep the flame on it for way too long. Once the whole cup gets hot on all sides, stop adding heat. Let it cool down before you light it again. A pro tip is to use a damp rag to cool off one side of the glass quickly which makes the puddle stream right to the cooler side so it does not burn.

My personal heating tactic that works every time:

Start with the torch. I use a torch to heat the glass up quick, but the rule is to never hold that flame directly under the gear for more than 2 seconds. You just want it loose enough to start sliding around.

Switch to a regular bic lighter. Once the gear is close to a full puddle, let it cool for a moment. Then hold the regular lighter underneath for 4 seconds on and 2 seconds off. Repeat this until it is fully melted, and that is when you start twisting the pipe back and forth toward the cooler sides.

Strict rule: Never reheat for longer than a 7 second pull while inhaling.

Other golden rules:

Pull slow and soft. Take a gentle, slow draw, and do not start inhaling until that thick white cloud forms and fills up the glass completely.

Never let the flame touch the glass. Keep a distance between the flame and the pipe whether you use a torch or a lighter.

Glass quality changes the whole game:

Thick glass like Pyrex stays hot for a very long time like an oven, so you have to be extra careful because it keeps cooking the product even after you take the heat away.

Thin glass like Love Rose oil burners heats up fast and cools down just as fast, which is my personal favorite because it gives better control.

There is also another method where you can use a needle lighter for very precise heat control.

Does anyone else here chain-smoke cigarettes like crazy when they're high? Like instead of ur usual half a pack or one pack, u end up smoking two full packs easily. Why does this happen?
