The results of my SECOND survey of this wonderful community are in!

With 559 responses from here, Discord, social media and the communities of a few other creators, I am happy that this is a decent cross-section of the community. However, the same caveats as previously still apply. You can check the original survey results here.

This time the focus dove into preferences across kinks, safety, gender, and more.

You'll find two word clouds near the end. The first is keywords in response to what people want from hypnokink that they find is missing, and the second is the response to the question of how they would describe this community and niche.

I hope you'll find these results interesting. I left out the questions about age and education as they're close to the same results as last time.

I did include the question of gender, as before there were some issues around self-identification, which hopefully was improved this time around.

Hi Folks,

First things first, a huge thank you to everyone who completed and shared the survey I posted a few days ago. It's now closed with 797 total responses. With a best guess of 100,000 as a population based on the active users of this subreddit (though I'm sure the EH community is much larger), this gives a pretty good margin of error, so we can, with some caveats outlined in the next paragraph, take this as broadly representative of the community.

The Caveats:

• As the person sharing the survey, that means many respondents will come from my own audience, which I know skews primarily to men.
• Reddit, and other sharing locations across social media, tend to bias toward 18-34 year olds, and the survey results match roughly the same age spread as Reddit has, according to this article. Gender is similarly spread. There's no clear way to tell if there is an older cohort who are not active in the community spaces this was shared (Discord, Reddit, X, Bluesky)
• The survey was shared by other creators/listeners, but not uniformly or with a mind to finding gaps in the sample, so this was not shared in, for example, community spaces with a focus on women who enjoy hypnokink.

The Results:

I hope you'll find these results interesting. Certainly for people who worry they aren't able to have a hands-free orgasm it may be a relief to see many take a long time to achieve it, though many have never managed it. As with all statistical analyses, there is bias in the questions asked, and people may choose to misrepresent their own experiences. Over 797 responses this, we assume, will become negligible alongside a large number of 'true' results, but this is a complex and subjective topic and experience.

It is heartening to see that experiences improve over time, and by one year of listening a majority are feeling some positive effects.

Finally, the word cloud shown at the end of the results includes many removed linking words, and irrelevant words to the description of how it feels to be in trance.
