Running While Caged

As a daily runner and full-time chastity wearer, I wanted to share my experience of running while caged in the various devices I have owned. A lot of people ask whether it's possible to run, exercise, workout while wearing a cage, and my answer to that is absolutely, though specific cages have their pros and cons.

The cages I've worn while running:

CherryKeeper: The model I currently wear is a Total TouchStop with loops on the sides of a double base ring that can attach to a waist strap. Most of the time, this works great. Whenever I've had a minor cut or scrape on my dick, I've even told my wife I'd prefer to wear this cage over being unlocked since this cage functions almost like a cast by keeping the area protected.

However, on longer runs, the skin around the base ring sometimes stings. Last weekend after I ran 8+ miles, and when I showered afterwards, the area underneath my balls stung quite a bit when the water came in contact with it. I assume there was some minor irritation/chafing that mixed with the salt from my sweat, which became irritated when mixed with soapy water.

Once or twice, I also ran in this cage with a waist chain attached to the loops. This irritated the skin over my hip bones and also that same area under my balls, as the cage was pulled up a bit by the chain and unable to bounce up and down as much with my motion.

The Grip: This is the cage I wear most frequently. I'm on my third Grip device and the fit is pretty dialed in. I had an issue in the past where my glans ring was too loose and when I tried running in it, the cage slid nearly all the way off my dick during my run. Since then, I've started wearing a tighter fitting glans ring and that problem is gone.

My first two Grips had two vents on the head piece (this is the default style offered by HZD), and sometimes after my runs, the head of my dick would be a little bit discolored, sort of black/blue. I assume what was happening here is that the skin was poking through those holes and rubbing against my clothes, causing irritation. My current Grip cage has only one opening at the front, so that area is now closed off. I typically add a Band-Aid to cover the front hole so that there is no chafing. I'm able to run most distances in this cage without issue.

Blackout Sport: This cage has a couple unique features. First, it has a double base ring where the two rings are spaced slightly apart. This helps spread the area of contact over a wider surface and has helped prevent irritation underneath the balls. The cage is not locked into a fixed position...there is a small rail where the cage and base ring connect that allows the cage to pivot slightly side to side, which is helpful when things are bouncing around during exercise. It also has "vents" along the top that are kind of sharp when the cage is new and can be somewhat painful. After I wore the cage a couple times, this became less of a concern as the vents were reshaped to accommodate my body. This cage also had the same "side vent" bruising issue as my first Grip cage, but overall it's a solid option for wear during exercise.

Behind Barz: I tried running in a full steel chastity belt once or twice. Do not recommend. I did buy a fabric waist guard that apparently volleyball players wear to try to protect the skin around my hip area, but it wasn't enough. Very uncomfortable.

Badass Workroom BA-34R: This is a titanium cage with an inner glans ring. I've had issues with cheaper metal cages in the past where the heavy weight causes the cage to slide off during a run, even if the fit felt tight before the run. Because this cage is made out of a much lighter titanium material, that hasn't been a concern for me in the BA-34R. The issue with this one is that the glans ring connects via an insert, which gets locked between the base ring and cage. There is a small gap where this connection is, and it can pinch, especially during exercise. I'd love to wear this cage more often frequently if I can find a good solution for this issue.

My best general advice for running in chastity regardless of cage:

1.) Unless the front opening to the cage is really small, I'd recommend covering it with a Band-Aid or something similar to prevent chafing

2.) Apply some lotion around the base ring if going for a longer run

3.) If wearing a heavy steel cage, be prepared for it to slide down even if the fit feels tight pre-run

4.) Didn't mention this in the Grip section, but for a shaft-only device, it's easier for the cage to slide down when the cage length is longer. My first Grip cage was fairly short, and even though the glans ring was not as tight, this one stayed put. When I used the same glans ring on a longer cage, it did slide down until I resized to a tighter glans ring
