My wife and I are complete newbies to the lifestyle as a couple. We're thinking about visiting a venue just to get a feel for the vibe and some exposure, without any pressure to play.

Two places that keep coming up are Between Friends Wine Bar and Shed 16. I'd love a bit of info on both.

Out of the two, which one would you recommend for a couple that's brand new to this and just wants to observe on their first visit?

Also, quick questions:

• Are there private rooms available?
• How clean are the venues generally?
• Is it easy to book on the same night, or do we need to book ahead?
• What’s the typical crowd like (age range, mix of couples/singles, atmosphere)?
• Which are the best days/nights to visit for a more relaxed, newbie-friendly experience?
