i included a picture to show what i’m talking about but when i was discharged from the hospital i was cleared by dr freet to stop wearing the donut and instantly started to develop a lot of wound separation. that was 3 days ago now and im back to the donut. did anyone else have this happen and why? picture of my phallus included to show what I mean
hey i had rff with freet the first time on june 9th, but only the right side of my dick survived. I then had rff again (but only a portion of it) for my left side of my dick july 29th. i’m home now and im having really bad wound separation on the underside of my shaft. i think it’s just from swelling. it what should i do? i already contacted my surgical team im just wanting to hear from yall
before surgery i dabbled in my fair amount of party drugs (coke, e, lsd, shrooms) and was wondering when others who have used those drugs before were able to use them after surgery? and yes i know drugs are bad and i shouldn’t do them at all etc etc, im just curious to those who have used when they were able to go back again. i plan on asking my surgical team as well.
to be more clear i know cigarettes and poppers you have to wait a longer time for since they constrict your blood vessels, and so im sure its similar for coke, and my team said i could go back to taking edibles after i get released from the hospital (for the fourth time; my hopefully final revision is wednesday)
hello, i had partial flap failure recently (rff stage one, just phallus creation no burial no UL) and im set to go get the other half of my penis fixed with a partial graft from my arm next week. they’ll be taking another artery and nerve with it. though a few weeks ago they repaired my penis after clearing up the dead tissue with a split thickness graft from my leg (temporary,) and cut into my arm as if they were taking the permanent graft then, but sewed it back into my arm to help prepare that artery for when they put it in my penis. i have a good amount of flexibility in my right arm (where they will be taking the partial graft,) and im worried about mobility after surgery. i know ill be on bed rest for five days so they make sure my penis adheres and has blood flow, but i’m nervous about how independent i’ll be. i’ve gotten pretty independent since my first surgery, as im able to drive, change my wraps, shower, hike, and use my hands (to an extent.)
so in total, for those who have had partial flap failure and the repair surgery, how far did it set you back? was it back to square one right after your initial surgery? or were you able to walk pretty quickly after surgery
so i am a month out from surgery and im still having a ton of tightness in my wrist. my grip strength has returned almost entirely, but i still can’t flex my fingers flat, and i cant elevate my wrist more than like 15°. i’ve messaged my surgical team about it but is this normal and what have other people done to build back that wrist strength? i stretch it everyday in a variety of ways and i still can barely move it. like i can’t even get into the position to do a push up (i also had a partial graft taken from my right arm, so that wrist is also tight but not nearly as much as my left wrist, but that is only a week old)
additionally my entire left hand is also still very swollen, like i can’t seen my knuckles at the base of my hand. i’m less concerned about this though and my surgical team says it’s normal
what i’m curious is about when did everyone regain wrist mobility back and when did hand swelling go down completely??

ever since i got stage 1 RFF on june 9th from dr freet ive had nothing but complication after complication. first, they had to take grafts from both of my thighs instead of just one cause there wasn’t enough skin to cover my arm. whatever. things seemed fine when i was in the hospital besides some purple discoloration so i was sent home. that discoloration quickly turned into necrotic tissue that spread and spread over the course of the week till my post op. i sent pics to dr freet every day who assured me that its fine. okay whatever
yeah it wasn’t fine and on the day of my post op im admitted back to the hospital to get surgery to clean it up. dr freet doesnt think its that deep and says it should only take about an hour. well i wake up and half of my dick is gone including my urethra (or where my urethra would be) because it was in fact that deep. dr freet says it’s because my artery they took was too weak so he’s going to have to give me a delay skin graft in a few weeks to let my other arm beef up the artery
so i go BACK into surgery a day later to patch up my dick with some thigh skin and to cut into my other arm but not take the skin off, stay there for a few days, and then get sent home with 5 wounds to change. awesome.
now i’m at home and guess what, now i’m having my scars at the base of what’s left of my penis splitting and i feel like im losing my fucking mind. it smells exactly like how my necrosis did, and has the yellow tissue but no black tissue. dr freet says he doesn’t think it’s necrosis but i have no idea what else it could be cause it’s happening so fast and spreading like necrosis would
i’ve been texting freet practically every day about my concerns and i feel like this is never going to end. i need to get better by august to go back to college and im so sick of stupid shit like this getting in my way of my life and career. i just feel so hopeless and on top of having to deal with all the complications, i also now have to deal with cis guy insecurities, like ‘is my dick big enough’ because my size is a lot smaller than expected. does anyone have any tips on what to possibly do to help me from panicking so much or dealing with the emotional turmoil? like my hair is thinning i’m so stressed out
hey it’s me again. another post about necrosis. i recently had a ton of tissue removed that was dead, and yet noticed that the smell was definitely reduced but never fully went away. i was wondering if the tissue that looks yellowish around the stitching where my penis attaches is necrotic too? i messaged my surgeon (dr. freet) but i wanted to get your guys’ opinions too
hey i’m about 3 weeks post op stage 1 RFF with Dr. Freet. the reason there’s a cavity in my phallus is because a bunch of skin has to be removed cause of necrosis, so i’m getting a delay partial flap in 3-4 weeks to fix it. anyway like the title says i noticed this lump and im a little concerned. sent dr. freet a picture and he said its fine but im curious to what it actually could be?
hey guys i just had stage one rff done on june 9th my doctor freet and i got discharged two days ago. anyway ever since about 3 days after my surgery part of the back side of my dick turned purple, which they monitored up until i left and it never grew or got worse, and still had good cap refill + heartbeat and was warm
so i get home and immediately part of the purple sloughs off and reveals brand new pink skin under it. i message freet and he said its fine, and just to apply bacitracin.
flash forward to today my dick looks like this, and i’m freaking out. i sent the photo to him to which he said this in response. i also messaged my mychart team but they haven’t responded yet. also dr freet has not responded or seen the last message yet.
anyway, what do i do here?? i’m terrified of losing my dick, especially since they took skin from both of my thighs already to cover my left arm

hello. my operation date is june ninth and right now i’m having a difficult time swallowing and chills which i’m telling myself is probably not me sick, but im terrified that it is. what should i do? do i tell my surgeon or pray i just heal in a week?
hey guys!! currently i have stage 1 phallo scheduled for june 9th, and i go to the gym pretty often. i know surgery will definitely take a toll on my muscle and weight, and im wondering how much weight people gained and how much muscle you lost, and about how long it took to regain/relose it? even rough ideas help, thank you!!
