I've updated my bio so this doesn't happen as often.

I'm on Android, but my sub is having a hard time setting up iOS. I've read the Zendesk articles and FAQs on Kidslox Support. While the controls work as intended after setup, it's quite hard for me to unblock specific websites. I often try to unblock a whole bunch of categories not knowing what specifically caused it, but when that doesn't work, I end up setting the device in parent mode, since unblocking specific sites requires Advanced Anti-Tampering Features, which isn't bundled in the main MDM profile. Family Sharing isn't as complicated, but I don't have another device to use a different Apple ID on, as all my old game progress is synced to my IRL parent's iCloud.

My sub doesn't have a computer to go through this process, it's not like I can connect them to my computer from a thousand miles away. Not to mention it asks for the parent passcode, Apple ID password, and everything else.

A lot of the time, one of us disconnects during the setup, forcing the sub to start all over, which requires my parent PIN to confirm consent. I do a lot of multitasking and have no idea what screen the other side is on. More frustratingly, my sub wants to do Telescope with me, but I have to request it, which must be approved within a short time. If it gets declined or ignored, even accidentally, I can't see what's going on, and even if it got accepted, when the battery drains, the screen casting stops working. Any updates/restarts can easily break the controls intended, let alone if I forget to reset the parent PIN via email shortly after the sub types it in, and the MDM profile can easily be removed.

What made Apple decide on this? It doesn't help our community.

I hadn't been sent my card in the mail yet when I started a free trial for Canopy, so my little brother let me use his. What he didn't tell me was that the merchants allowed for spending were restricted, so the card got declined when the first payment was due. The company owning the card will get in trouble with the IRS if everyone does this; please be careful.
