I started playing Betrayal expecting just another generic suspense AVN, but the game honestly surprised me a lot, especially considering it’s still early in development.

The atmosphere and immersion are easily some of the strongest parts. The game keeps this constant tension almost all the time, and the music helps a lot with that. The soundtrack fits the heavy tone of the story perfectly, and the sound effects make several scenes feel way more impactful and cinematic.

>!The story hooked me pretty fast too. Vincent, Ashley, and Laura have a really good dynamic filled with distrust, trauma, and hidden secrets. Vincent especially is a very interesting MC because he slowly starts recovering fragmented memories from his childhood, and it heavily feels like his entire life may have been manipulated somehow, with parts of his memories erased or hidden from him. That makes the mystery a lot more engaging because you start realizing alongside him that maybe nothing about his past is actually what he believed it was.!<

>!Another thing I liked is how subtle and natural the romance feels. It doesn’t feel forced at all. And honestly, even though there are still no sex scenes, that really doesn’t feel like a problem. The main characters are literally contract killers living in a world full of paranoia, violence, and emotional baggage, so the bigger focus on suspense, storytelling, and character development works much better.!<

The visuals are also really good for an indie project still in early development. The backgrounds look great, the characters have solid expressions, and some scenes genuinely feel cinematic.

Overall, the game feels way more focused on building an actual story, interesting characters and that ended up pulling me in way more than I expected.

This is the kind of romance story I’ve been looking for. The writing is so good and all the LIs are top tier, makes it hard af to choose lol.

Michelle — bro I genuinely love her, every moment with the MC is sweet af

Kimberly — same here, her chemistry with the MC is just too good

Alessa — ngl she’s dangerous 😭 she’s the MC’s ex but their moments together always got me smiling. Problem is she’s Michelle’s sister so messing with both is risky af lol

That’s probably my top 3.

Keyla kinda confused me tho. She said she wanted to stay pure for the MC, then ended up dating the MC’s best friend and even married him while still loving the MC .

And honestly I don’t really like the MC’s best friend either. Bro already had Keyla as his wife and still went after other girls. Man just pisses me off lol.

-yesterday crossroads

I loved Returning to Mia so much - to the point I replayed it multiple times, got all the achievements and unlocked every single scene.

I did a blind playthrough the first time through, as I do with all AVN's I play for the first time, and although I genuinely LOVE Sadie's character and traits, I ended up going with Mia on the first path purely for the reminisce and connections they built over the course of the story which made sense to the MC to rekindle the flame etc.

However, the trauma of seeing what this eventually did to Sadie was so damn heartbroking I honestly felt that it gut punched me into an emotional oblivion.

I've NEVER had that feeling after playing any game or experiencing a movie/TV show, let alone an AVN. I felt like a massive POS for doing that to her given she was always so loyal, supportive, trying to be at her sexiest and pleasing the MC, kind and genuinely caring in every possible way throughout the whole story.

I had to correct it (and undo the genuine emotional trauma!) by doing a purely loyal playthrough to Sadie, and some of the final chapter/epilogue scenes are some of the most emotional and compelling scenes I have ever felt playing an AVN.

Beautiful, touching and a genuine journey from where I was at the beginning of the game to how it ended with her.

Also to the point where I was welling up and felt this was the path that the Devs truly wanted the romance choices to lead, especially given there was so many intricate details that solidified the MC and Sadie in the final scenes of dialogue and life path. Even where it felt like it was a 'learning' to be with Mia until that point and find maturity and true affection within Sadie in the end and settle with eternal happiness.

Anyway, I'm really suffering with post-game depression after this 🤣 it really hit me how powerful some of the writing in these games can be.

Yes we are mostly here for the 'scenes' but the way these characters can come to life from the screen with how good the writing can be is massively underrated, and this is the first time I have felt I got so much emotional investment from a game.

Essay over... I also wanted to share my love for Sadie and share an AI render of her, or at least what AI believes she would look like if she were a real person outside of the RTM World.

Looking forward to the next one the devs will hit out the park (I've heard she may be coming back in the next resort based game coming out this year?! 👀) but I just wanted to share some Sadie love and also how much I loved this game 💜

I started playing the game again, and a man named Fred appeared. He is Harry’s father. On Fiona’s path, there’s a scene that feels like a dream sequence involving the MC, where the woman says something like, “What we’re doing right now is wrong.” When the MC sees them, they feel very familiar to him, and Skylar says, “I wonder why?You’re right, the ending should be like this:

After 7 months and 9 days, we are officially so so so back!!! We fixed some last second bugs and are now ready for it to be gaming week!!! Yall have no idea how excited I am for yall to play this!! I think you're all going to enjoy it a ton! Anyway, enjoy the update! This one is by far the biggest one we've done.
